A restored 16th century peel tower near Carsphairn, Brockloch Tower stands out against the misty hills.
Blackpool Tower is a tourist attraction in Blackpool, Lancashire, England, which was opened to the public on 14 May 1894. Inspired by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, it is 518 feet (158 metres) tall and is the 120th tallest freestanding tower in the world. Blackpool Tower is also the common name for Tower buildings, an entertainment complex in a red-brick three-storey block comprising the tower, the ground floor aquarium and cafeteria, Tower Circus, the Tower Ballroom and roof gardens that was designated a Grade I listed building in 1973.
The Woolworth's building on the corner of Adelaide Street West was designed by B C Donaldson and opened in 1937. It is built on the site of the former Woolworth's Bazaar and the Royal Hotel. It was Pricebusters before being refurbished by JD Wetherspoon and opened on 2nd July 2010 as The Albert And The Lion freehouse.
Wooden watchtower, plated with reflecting metal parts wich become more and more dense to the top. Viewed from a more distand point, the tower seems to fade into the sky.

I haven't been here for a while, waiting for proper winter conditions.
I always loved the shape of the Blondin support tower, the aerial ropeway system that lifted carts of slate out of the bottom of the quarry. I'm not sure where the other end was secured to on the opposite side of the quarry but it must have had equally substantial fixings.
There are some climbers, slightly below centre of this shot.
Devils Tower (also known as Bear Lodge) is a butte, possibly laccolithic, composed of igneous rock in the Bear Lodge Ranger District of the Black Hills, near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. It rises 1,267 feet (386 m) above the Belle Fourche River, standing 867 feet (264 m) from summit to base. The summit is 5,112 feet (1,558 m) above sea level. (9/28/2024)
MP36 #420blazeityolo leads an outbound commuter train past Metra's venerable Tower A2 on a bright and clear Spring evening. I believe this is now the last manned interlocking tower in Chicagoland.
When it comes to creating darkening, somber skies, Mother Nature gives it her best in October and November. This one served as a backdrop for the abandoned guard tower at the former Lorton Prison. I borrowed the title from Stephen King who borrowed it from Robert Browning who borrowed it from Shakespeare. Lots of mileage on that puppy. : ))

The tower is 560 feet (170 metres) high, and was opened in 2005. It has three observation decks just above 100 metres (the three sections enclosed in glass).
It has been sponsored in the past by Emirates Airlines, and more recently Macmillan Cancer Support.
On the lowest deck, there is a short walkway made of glass, so you can walk in the air above seemingly nothing.

This wonderful WW1 memorial clock tower is in Ulverstone Tasmania. The three pillars represent the armed forces - army, navy and airforce - linked together with the chains built over the original WW1 memorial. It looks great during the day, but at night it is quite special.
