A minimal shot for a busy day!!

I played a bit with colour effects and liked this outcome - and no, no b&w-version in this case. :)

Wish you all a lovely weekend!

Here’s one that missed out on the first edit back in 2005 as being too - er, average. But with the passing years, and steam’s demise, ‘average’ can morph into sentiments that say - “I’m happy I took that”. Through the autumn woods into the bright sunlight. Really contrasty day.

Antelope Canyon, Arizona

Antelope is the iconic slot canyon, a photographer's dream with the midday sun bouncing off the water-carved sandstone walls and beams of light illuminating dust in the air. The extreme contrast between the shadows and the light is challenging, but not as challenging as coping with the crowds.

The Navajo Nation runs the concession, taking photographers and tourists through the narrow canyon. Did I say it was narrow? Like soldiers from the Napoleonic era, the photographers work their cameras and tripods in ranks, some kneeling and others standing, while the guides throw up handfuls of sand to catch the light. Then you move along, figuring out exposures while trying to avoid people in your shot.

Special thanks to the kind Michel Paquin who took the time to tell us and direct us towards these cute little owlets.

Un grand merci à Michel Paquin pour sa gentillesse et son temps de nous informer et de nous aider à trouver ces petits hiboux.
