UP 1063 and a fellow GP40-thing trundle light down the western/southern end of the Shoreline Sub, passing ballast cars stored west of the end of double track at Wiscona.
This image was shot hand held and without longexposure, so is the whole serie. It was lightly rainy and I don't want to go through the effort to shoot under the umbrella, as against to 80% of my wet foggy images.

A black-winged stilt which played around near me just long enough to get a shot.
It was interesting to see how it hovered over me just until I got out of her territory, making the other birds aware of my presence.

I had the wrong lens with me so this is a panorama made from nine photos taken at the Krigslida bridge. Might have to tweak it a bit more
First time in a while, I went walking at Frenchtown Road Conservation Area yesterday. This is the road that runs along the RR tracks and leads to the Amite River. As you can see, I got there just in time for the sunrise!
From the summit of Monte Paterno / Patternkofel we are descending towards the south. The nice trail by the ledges is from the World War I.
