The 2017 total solar eclipse was obscured by clouds over Saint Joseph, Mo., and only these partial eclipse views could be seen through the clouds.

January 21, 2019
The January 20/21 total lunar eclipse, blood moon in progress. My camera clock was off by 1 hour, 0 minutes and 50 seconds, so this image is actually taken at roughly an hour and a minute earlier than EXIF states.
A cool thing about this eclipse was that a Meteor hit the Blood Moon at exactly 11:41:10 (Reports differ, but it is 11:41: something.)

When in total eclipse the moon appears red because it is lit by light refracted through or scattered from the Earth's atmosphere.

Over 1 million tourists flocked to the Buffalo/ Niagara Falls region to witness the total solar eclipse, prompting Guard support of local emergency services. I wanted to capture the entire umbral stage in 5 minute intervals. Alas, my 18-200mm Nikkor wasn't really up to the task, particularly while the moon was under greatest eclipse.
I also converted the images into an animated GIF.

I took these pictures of the lunar eclipse 08/28/2007. Taken with a Nikon D80, 300mm lens, on a tripod.
When I took them the green orb was not visible to me. The camera doesn't lie. These photos are untouched, other than reduced.
The photos are in order taken. Notice that in most of the photos the orb moves, however in the 6th photo the orb is not even visible,
but is in the 7th and 8th. I have a total of 30 photos. Each photo is taken only seconds apart.
Any thoughts as to what it is?
who doesn't visit the depths of thought on such a night as this.
The moon rose completely eclipsed this evening at 6:18. There were too many clouds to see that from my vantage. Allison saw it as she drove to work. I was finally able to get a clear view as the earth was almost finished removing its veil from the lunar face.

After cloud cover prevented any viewing of the eclipse on this morning, I decided to recreate the scene missed in reverse with a Jaffa Cake.
Lunar Eclipse, seen from Essex in the UK. Taken through double-glazing so has reflections. This is a rare total Lunar Eclipse. The last Blood Moon was seen in 1982 and will not occur again until 2033.
This tiny village was really bustling on August 1. I'm sure the locals were a bit bemused--but hopefully they figured out what all the fuss was about once totality hit. The area is apparently known for its apricot orchards. We enjoyed an ice-cold green tea while we waited for the moon to slip in front of the sun.
