I wanted to capture the entire umbral stage in 5 minute intervals. Alas, my 18-200mm Nikkor wasn't really up to the task, particularly while the moon was under greatest eclipse.

 

I also converted the images into an animated GIF.

Taken with my new Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ1000. Credit goes to Tom. He had fun testing out the camera and figuring out the best settings to get the best pics.

The times are taken from EXIF data so are only as accurate as my camera was

 

First contact was officially 12:00:45 so I think pretty accurate

La verdad, no acabo de entender bien por qué hay dos aros... ¿puede tener algo que ver con la atmósfera, halos y demás cosas de física que no acabo de entender -estilo arcoiris-?

Totality arrives and the deck of the Oosterdam is shrouded in darkness.
