These are my light painting tools, nothing fancy or expensive but I've had a lot of fun with them.

An earlier variation on the image Diagonal Pattern, from two images back.
Though I prefer to use masks, I finally edited my brush for this by making a brush and using it with the eraser tool.
GIMP has a tool called the Paths Tool, which is like the Pen Tool in Adobe. I used it to create the brush used in this pattern.
Masking is easy; clipping masks are rather confusing. Just what I need to keep my mind occupied : )
The wooden tools pictured here were beautifully made by hand by master woodworker Frank Weisner in Australia. I have waited a few months to get them, but they are certainly worth the wait. To give an idea of scale, the sewing frame in the center is only 7 inches wide. The most coveted tool is the lying press and plow on the left, which is used to trim the edges of the book block before the covers are added. The standing press will come in handy to apply the initial pressure necessary after glueing the covers. The other tools on the right are a corner rounder which is not much used in miniature bookmaking (it was sitting on the shelf so whatthehell), and lastly my Schärff-Fix leather skiver which is a must have tool for leather binding.
Some of the personal possessions of my late father.
The three miniature hammers, the mini anvil, and the micro adjustable saw, are all tools that he made himself.
All the others have been modified or improved in some way.
He mentored me in many mechanical subjects, and was always trying to improve my understanding of metallurgy. Even as his vision started to fail and his desire to work on things diminished.
He taught me to: live life on my terms. To pursue things that made me happy. To not settle for what was made available, and to always look to improve what was around me.
I'm missing him today as I clean up my shop, and handle things he gave me, things that I learned to make with his help&knowledge.
I am who I am today, because of his support, and his example.
I hope I can do the same for my Son, and Daughter.
Under the quilted cover you would think there might be a table, but no!
It is a kitchen stool wearing camouflage!

Still life photo of bike tools taken with a long exposure. The photo was illuminated with a bike light using a “painting with light” technique.

At one time, I would imagine this Sears location had one of the largest Craftsman tool departments in the area. Even when I took this photo, it seemed a little bit bigger than the Whitehaven and former Hickory Hill Craftsman departments.

Tonight, the aurora continued, however we had lots of cloud cover. These shots are during a break in the clouds, with one fairly dense one that remained in the Northern sky. The lights of Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown are visible below the Northern Lights. The tide is coming in and the Aurora Borealis is reflecting in the swelling pools of seawater.
