This image was taken at my aunt's 1790's New Hampshire farm. I love the color and patina of well used, antique tools.
The non-slip pad was not enough to prevent the tools from rolling around every time I closed the drawer. My solution was to make two tool-holding trays out of cardboard. Both trays are designed so that I can pick up my most frequently used tools with one hand.
The scissors tray is raised 1.7 cm so that I can store my heavy-duty shears under the scissors that I use more often.
Hard-to-see: the ruler that is lying on its edge just behind the drawer front.

Grooming and forming
The two images of Tools for bonsai were made on the same batch of calotype papers and exposed one after the other in the same place, on top of the same old camera canvas box. However, the light conditions were changing with light on an overcast November afternoon getting weaker. Therefore, it may be the reason why this image appears different. It was printed from a much weaker calotype negative and consequently the contrast was lower than the first. Also the wooden handles absorb light while the metals handles reflect most of it. This called for a more contrasty preparation of salted paper here.
At my local church, I typeset and print the bulletin, and put the song lyrics and sermon notes on the computer. During the services, I run the sound board and project the lyrics and notes to the screen.
Yellow wants to create a Map and a Shovel on his turn. She'll have to roll and risk injury on both. If she were to concentrate on one invention only, success would be guaranteed.
The jigsaw is one of my least favorite tools to use, but is too useful to avoid. My dad got it for me, gosh, it's probably been about two decades ago now. The belt sander on the stand is one he gave to me from his own shop before he passed away, it's older than the jigsaw and still purrs like a kitten. When I got that sander, it had that exact...same...belt on it and it's seen its fair share of use in the years since. Talk about longevity. The compound mitre saw in the back is the second newest tool I own. My wife got it for me a couple of years ago, and it sat unused in the box until a couple of weeks ago, when I got a sudden bug to do some woodworking. Since my garage has slowly morphed into a storage area, I just drug all my tools onto the back patio. The heat's actually not too terrible with the shop fan going full blast.

About the only thing I ever need tools for is changing batteries in remote controls, flashlights, and hand held video games. This set covers all my needs.
