This is from a roll I shot over a year ago and misplaced. I just found it and remembered I had started a project to document the celebration of Christmas in Beijing. I completely forgot about it once my girlfriend (make that ex and here she is) got off work for the holidays, so no book deal for me, but we had fun. It was worth it.

This is a group of coins/tokens I'm presently working on along with another colleague. The photo has been supplied by the owner, so no scale shown. We are awaiting measurements along with weights, which have now just been added. The latest findings are:

Top left. Classical helmeted Roman head left within a decorated border. The piece appears to be a pressed out lid of a pill box or locket like object. Presumably made from a copper alloy and of Victorian date copying a coin of Constantinian type. Possibly a souvenir from Italy. Dia. 27mm.

Top middle. Ptolemy II (285-246BC) bronze diobol from Alexandria, Egypt. Eagle standing with wings closed and facing left on a thunderbolt. The Greek legend surrounds the eagle. Their are no symbols in the field. The obverse carries a portrait of Zeus Ammon. Note the central punch mark. Ref: Svoronos 465. Dia. 29mm. W. 18.02g.

Top right. Brass Nuremberg jeton of c.1490 issued for use in Venice showing a bishop's mitre with three flowers and fleur-de-lis enclosed within a legend that makes no sense. The reverse has a Lion of St. Mark. Ref: PAS SWYOR-B498FI & LON-F14-DSD. Mitchiner 1016/1093. Dia. 22mm. W. 3.03g.

Bottom left. Brass 17th century farthing token. H/IE for John Hall of Banbury, Oxon. Dia. 15mm. W. 1.10g. Obv. *IN*JOHN*HALL* around double headed eagle with a six rayed sun over. Rev. *BANBURY*1666* around *H*/I*E. Ref: Seaby part two tokens/Williamson no. 9.

Bottom right. Copper 3 quattrini issued in 1680 by Cosomo III in Pisa in the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. The reverse carries the Cross of Pisa and the date. Dia. 20mm. W. 2.2g. Ref: KM#36 & Numista 201285.

Farthing Token undated c.1820-1825 Reverse Phoenix HEALTH RESTORED

I lived in Williamsburg for 5 years and now I live about an hour away. I LOVE taking pictures here because I can always find something new that I haven't seen before. I don't like taking "touristy" shots because anybody can take these so now when I go I look for out of the ordinary angles and textures.

Recently my aunt passed away and through the years I sent her little tokens of affection. She saved them, these are some from about 15 years ago which were returned to me as keepsakes.

Also attributed to Seaside, Oregon and Port Hueneme (by the same cataloger who attributes it to Santa Cruz) in Ventura County. More research is needed.
