The New York City Transit Authority first introduced the "Bullseye" tokens on January 1, 1986 when the fare was raised to $1. The metal disc in he centre was to prevent the use of slugs by fare evaders, although that didn't stop the token suckers.

The tokens were used through two more fare increases - $1.15 in 1990 and $1.25 in 1992.

In December 1988 a special commemorative token was issued for the opening of a new subway line in Queens. the Instead of "GOOD FOR ONE FARE" it said "ARCHER AV EXTENSION 12-88".

These tokens were given to everyone who came to witness Atlantis being turned over from NASA to the Delaware North Companies who run the Kennedy Space Center visitor place. While it was put in a very cheap case, the token seems to not be cheap. Admission to the event certainly was great enough to pay for something better than a cheap arcade token. I'm no expert in the quality of these items, though, so I can't tell how not-cheap it might be. No matter, though; I'm keeping it.

Poorly designed TTC token machine. It's not even bilingual and when the price increases, the machine pricing becomes that you get less tokens and get a bunch of change in return. awkward usage.

Dig my token collection. I worked hard to get one from just about every arcade I frequented.

What is a heritage museum without a token moonshine still? Nothing. I'm not exactly sure why this one is in a plexiglass casket.
