A dagger fell on my toe. The toe ring saved me from having it become a bleeding mess. Yay for toe rings!

Another look at the pair of four-toed hedgehogs. As can be seen, the four-toed hedgehog is an oval-bodied animal between 15 and 25 centimetres (5.9 and 9.8 in) in length and weighing between 250 and 600 grams. Females are typically larger than males. It has short legs, short tail typically around 2.5 centimetres (0.98 in) in length, a long nose, and small beady eyes. The ears and whiskers are both relatively large, implying that the animal has good senses. As its common name implies, and unlike related species, the four-toed hedgehog typically has only four toes on each foot, lacking the hallux. However, in some individuals, a small bony lump may be present in place of the hallux, or there may even be a well-developed toe, especially on the hind feet.[4] (Al Ain, UAE, Aug. 2008)
207/366 Wednesday 25 July 2012. I spent the day off work, feeling unwell. For once I didn't want it to be this hot (the hottest day of the year so far in most places.) I wanted to feel cool. I wanted to feel well. I only ventured out when it became slightly cooler and only then to water plants. I don't know if I had the bug Chief had last week or something else.
In my continued effort to reduce my footprint on this planet, I amputated my toes... No, just squeezed them into another size smaller shoe. They are there, doubled up where you can't see them.
Last summer, I succeeded in getting my size 7 - 7 1/2 feet into a pair of Walmart's size Y13 sneakers and wearing them regularly. They became pretty comfortable once some of the seams ripped out, making them into quasi sandals. I'm still often wearing them.
So when I was by Walmart recently I saw they had these "Nerf" brand closed-toe sandals and decided to try a size smaller, Y12. At worst I figured I could perform surgery on them to make them wearable.
However, as soon as I pulled out the innersoles, I found I could pretty easily squeeze my feet into them and wear them out and around. I did take some Velcro to lengthen the strap to keep the heels from slipping off.
I can wear them now for over an hour, and I think with time they will get like last year's 13's, so I can wear them all day.
Who knows, next year size Y11?
It is easier if we take his shoes and socks off, saves him from removing them himself and lobbing them on the floor. He did at least announce that he was taking them off by saying 'Uh-oh' repeatedly.
The Toe-Jazz socks I made for my partner, shown from the back. The cables don't "pop" as well as I'd hoped, but that's probably because the alpaca yarn is so very soft and fuzzy.
Ang was laying (lying? UGH I've got to look that up sometime) on a giant exercise ball with her toes up on the chest [in the middle of the room]. So I had to shoot through her toes.

Some interesting facts about sloths:
Contrary to popular belief the sloth is not lazy but just naturally slow moving.
Food can take up to a month to digest!
They urinate and release their bowels only once a week.
Three-toed sloths have extra neck vertebrae and can turn their neck 270 degrees.
A dead sloth will not lose its grip and remain hanging from a tree.
