After the amount of pain I was in yesterday with my toe I very reluctantly made an appointment at the doctors surgery to get it checked out. I hate going to the doctors, not because because of all the poking and prodding but because I've to deal with the receptionist.

I have a hunch that all doctor receptionists attend some sort of rude school where they're trained to be beligerant difficult witches and the second that they're caught being remotely helpful then they get their receptionist licence revoked.

As a result I'm now on a 2 week course of antibiotics and I was referred straight away to an emergency podiatrist clinic where my toe was such a mess they couldn't do anything as it needs to heal a little first.

I've to go back in a week or two once the anti-biotics have kicked in and the swelling has gone down, until then I've to keep my toe bandaged up and be careful not to bang it on anything.

Thursday, September 25 marked the first run of a through freight on CSX’s Blue Ridge Subdivision since Hurricane Helene. Coal train C758 was led by the Clinchfield Heritage unit, freshly washed for the occasion. Weather was uncertain, but did improve as the train proceeded south. Seen here at Toe Cane, the train was still traveling at restricted speed.
