Welcome to Toadstool Cottage!

Pull up a mushroom cap and have a cup of tea with the resident fairy (handmade by Dannielle at Princess NImble Thimble).

Measuring roughly 10 x 12 " at the base, this cozy home made in the hollowed out stump of a tree, with a flagstone path and plenty of toadstools and wildflowers is made completely of wool through needlefelting.

The recent rain has encouraged the growth of toadstools, including this colourful group

Toadstool; 6" across the top

In Shakespeare's day they used these stone "toadstools" to hold up things like hay ricks to keep them off the ground. Now they're in heavy demand as antiques and sadly at considerable risk of theft.

handmade from felted, repurposed wool sweaters. this soft toadstool stands about 4 1/4" tall and is 4" wide. it is lovingly sewn by both hand and machine and stuffed firm with 100% sheeps wool, and weighted with dried beans.

perfect for a woodland display, nature table or gentle play.

This, like many of my photos, is also found in Ultrachool's photostream.

Not sure what these are but thought they had the typical toadstool look. Growing under hazel trees, there were quite a few of them.

I must be a bit daft, because it turns out last year I bought a toadstool garland and 12 individual cluster toadstool decorations - why, more than enough for my advent clendar to get all toadied up! Then I forgot I had them until we took the Xmas decos box upstairs this morning and rummaged around LOL! YAY! These are the most delicious red, the pic does not do them justice!

Tiny toadstools growing in the lawn after the rain. Oberon, NSW.

Basket fungus. This amazing fungus is produced by a golf ball sized round white 'ball' which pops out of the soil in very damp places and splits open. The fungus emerges being propelled out of the 'ball' to stand alone as a perfectly formed 'net' ball. This one has not fully emerged.
