One hungry Caterpillar ate this mushroom....

Another specimen found in the Barnhill plantation in the Forest of Dean when visiting the area with fellow flickr member Rod Holbrook earlier this autumn. I would be greatful if anyone on here can identify this species

Amazing geologic formations in Utah. And you don't even have to hike very far to find them!

On our way home from our Utah vacation, we stopped for a short hike to these toadstool formations. It's pretty crazy what nature creates with wind and water. These were probably 20 feet (~6M) tall.

Back from trip to Rugia! See you tomorrow evening!

We shot The Toadstools , near Kanab, Utah in the daytime, then returned to shoot it when the Milky Way was visible. I realized that I needed a warmer jacket and while exciting, it was painfully cold. Interestingly, Venus rose while we watched the Milky Way cross the sky and created an eerie optical illusion. Had not it been pictured on our cameras in one place, our eyes saw it jumping around the sky like no earthly vessel would have been able to accomplish. It had light stars, like sun stars, but more delicate and wavy. Quite eerie and wonderful. Here's a composite made up of a stacked exposure combined with a long exposure of the foreground (thanks to Cindy for teaching me this technique) and an exposure of the sky, showing Venus to above the horizon. I'm researching warm coats and welcome any suggestions. I have an arctic weight coat, but it is too large and bulky to travel with to all but he most extreme environments. Any recommendations?

I noticed these toadstool guys sprouting out of my fence post - think I need to replace my fence. The only problem is the last time I replaced a bit of fence I broke my knuckle and couldn't hold a camera for several months so maybe I'd better get somebody in to do it for me.

My annual Toadstool ring.(Sunlight only!)

From the same shoot as -- www.flickr.com/photos/algo/18939485/

which was my most interesting photo for a couple of years, until the powers that be wiped it out.

I like this one better for the sharper focus, and the framing archway, as well as the coincidental fly.

Larger than life-size.

I went for a little rummage in the bushes at lunchtime and found some little beauties. So delicate, so proud, I didn't want to touch them, but leave them to savour again..............when I can return with a tripod. And I used far too shallow a depth of field too. But I shall soon return for another go and a bit more exploration in the bushes and undergrowth. Great place, the Bollin River Walk

Oktober - Pilzzeit

Spent an evening walking amount the strange but beautiful toadstool hoodos in the eponymous park. Near Kanab, UT

Fly Agaric (Amanita muscaria). Famous, enchanting and highly toxic. Fly agaric is the home of fairies and magical creatures and a lover of birch woodland, where it helps trees by transferring nutrients into their roots, but if eaten can cause hallucinations and psychotic reactions.

Located 0.8 miles off of Highway 89 between Kanab, Utah and Page, Arizona the Toadstool is not often visited but is such an interesting geological area.

Ich entdeckte diesen Fliegenpilz im Herbstwald. Wundervolle warme Farben.

I found this toadstool in the autumn forest. Wonderful warm colors.

I looked it up and apparently there is no scientific difference between mushrooms and toadstools... well, I didn't know

that! This little one is alone in the dampest, and often most interesting, part of our garden. Last year they grew in abundance. This year I struggled to find any!
