pincushion made using felt ,a cork and a penny!
I should have cut the cork down a bit as it is a bit tall ,i glued a penny on the bottom to weight it.
After a control burn in Manly Dam, new growth rises from the ashes - here toadstools compete with green shoots.
horrid job with the sewing - couldn't get it just round enough and I had to do it twice! even my ladder stitching sucked. Also have to re-do the running stitch at the bottom of the stalk.
But it's pretty much done! A belated birthday gift for my 5 yo.
Bad trip.
This is basically a gigantic biscuit base, flavoured with cocoa, topped with buttercream (of course) and decorated with meringue toadstools and a plastic snail.
Birthday present for my Mum. Pattern from here...

I'm told many years ago when this was a wooded area a old tractor was here for many years.I wondered if that was why the toadstools grew here.Ive no idea really!
Not sure what these are but thought they had the typical toadstool look. Growing under hazel trees, there were quite a few of them.
It's been very dry here, however these have all appeared.. Nothing on the woodland floor, all on old wood, moss or trees.

A toadstool a friend and I happened upon in the Dublin mountains. It was by itself beside a small pool of water.
Yesterday my husband and I saw three of these extraordinary toadstools. We couldn't find any photos of them on the internet, so we don't know the name of these toadstools. Does anyone of you know?
update 14/02: apparently this is the final stage of a pestle puffball (handkea or calvatia excipuliformis).

I found this growing in the tall grass in the corral today, along with at least 14 others of different sizes.
Near the end of my walk, in the late afternoon, I spied these lovely 'shrooms near the pond's edge. The top color on this one caught my eye. I popped the flash and put the camera on the ground about 10 inches away. Tricky part is framing as I am not looking through the viewfinder. Had focus point set middle right, took one shot. Winning!
how cute are these little mushrooms (or toadstools) on this pillow? i drew and digitized them then sent them to my fab bernina to stitch out on linen. i just love old fashioned redwork. this is currently listed in my etsy shop.
Still not really in focus, but I left this picture of my Toadstool Leather in because you can see how well it is doing in just a couple of months. Notice the longer, more developed polyps.
