One thing I always dislike about welded bike frames is the messy looking welds. These are VERY cleanly finished welds. Surprising to find on a mass produced titanium bike, and nice to see on a bike with a fully polished finish. This is my Sumitomo "Max Titarion" frame from around 1990. The huge Sumitomo Metals Corporation of Japan produced the bikes... and also fabricated all of the drawn seamless CP (commercially pure) titanium tubing and all of the forged Ti dropouts, fork crown, and fittings for these bikes. The bikes were produced for several years and the framesets were also sold to several manufacturers to be re-badged under their own marques. The bicycle program was suddenly dropped by the company in the early 1990s.

My Hall of Fame is not going to be limited to only digital. It is for any kind of camera that fits the criteria set in my introduction.

So I think the Leica M6 is an easy, no brainer HOF selection. Leica produced a wonderful brochure to market the M6 when it was introduced. It featured the famous portrait of Che Guevara (which incidentally was made with an M2) and it asked the question: "How Revolutionary Should Your Camera Be?" Indeed Leica. My HOF is going to be somewhat informal at times. I could really put the whole M series here, because they are beautiful mechanical rangefinders that distill photography down to its essentials: composition, distance, exposure. It is brilliant in its simplicity, and simply brilliant. I think I will leave it there.

The M6 Titanium version is mated with another classic, the Leica 40mm Summicron lens, and a Bip Match Techinal shutter release - that's the bug sitting on the shutter button.

Really, put the phone speaker end fist into a 700 ml mug and listen to the increased volume and base. Works great

Titanium Soundwave has received a lot of strife from Transformer fans. They called him Diaperwave due to his large crotch piece. And, while he was cute, he was kinda odd looking. Ptitvite on the TFW2005 board came up with the idea to use the crotch and legs from a Classics Starscream. Since I happened to have a spare set of seeker legs from a broken Starscream, I was eager to do this mod. It took me about a month of trying to figure out (and about an hour's total work), but I finally have it complete! A proportional Titanium Soundwave!

He doesn't transform anymore. But who cares?!?! He's ever so adorable.

He's not painted in this photo. I plan to do a little work to his legs and thighs. I'll get that done in a few days and post more pix. I was just so happy getting the legs together that I couldn't wait to take pix.

Testing the skidmark propellant with a small motor today at NASA Ames. The sparks are molten titanium.

Next weekend, I plan to launch the V2.1 with the largest version of this motor available, the N2801, which is well over 100x this one.

And it’s illegal in California, so off to the Nevada desert we go. It should also be the loudest launch I have heard…. Will try to capture that somehow on video.

Early childhood education!

A little less than I'd hoped due to minor knee surgery

titanium makes cool colors and patterns when it gets burned. it looks like burnished leather.

I felt like I was taking a lot of pictures at night, so I got out early and took pictures in the sunny daytime. not sure I know what I'm doing. a lot of the skies got blown out, but in a kind of a neat way, so it's okay.

Took this photo while bulding my DIY lightbox using leftover cardboard from display case packaging and baking paper.

Made with a section of .020 titanium tubing, twisted with a blowtorch, and then polished. It turned out pretty nicely.

I had to take a break on my commute to snap a pic of the new steed. Being 6'5" tall and 220 pounds when it came time to choose a custom builder Zinn was the obvious choice.
