In 1994, Contax introduced an apparent oddity: a new line of interchangeable-lens rangefinder cameras that did not use the established Leica-M or Leica-screw lens mounts.

The new camera, the Contax G1, used the "G"-mount, an electronic autofocus mount. Critics were quick to accuse the camera of not being a "true" (mechanical) rangefinder, since it used autofocus and electronically-linked mechanisms. But the AF mechanism in the G1 does indeed use a twin-window system much like that of the older mechanical rangefinders—only in electronic form.

The lenses made by Zeiss for the G-series quickly established it as a camera of worth: the original 45mm f/2 Planar was joined by a 28mm f/2.8 Biogon and a 90mm f/2.8 Sonnar; a 21 f/2.8 Biogon, 16mm f/8 Hologon and a 35mm f/2 Planar were added later. The 45mm Planar in particular gained renown as the sharpest 35mm camera lens ever tested by the Swedish test site Photodo — outclassing even the illustrious Leica50mm Summicron.

With its titanium clad body, sophisticated electronic rangefinder and superb lenses, the G system has not been equalled in the years since its introduction.

ARC trooper Frost stood on docking platform 717 waiting alongside ARC Flare and Sargent Wake for their newly formed TTitanium squad. Part 1itanium squad, consisting of fifteen troopers. Frost: "I thought they were sending us fully grown troops, not just a bunch of inexperienced boys," showing his disapproval. Flare: "Give 'em a break Frost, some of these 'boys' as you call them, have as much experience as you and me, and the shiny ones are top of their class." Frost: "Well, I still don't think they'll watch our backs for us." Just as those words flew out of Frost's mouth, the clone without his helmet on said, "Heh, who does that gray ARC trooper think he is calling 'a shiny'?" Sargent Wake, who had been keeping quiet, shouted at the trooper asking his nickname and number. The clone rolled his eyes and said his name was Buzzard. Sargent Wake replied "I repeat what is your number, your conduct could get you court marshaled for insubordination!" Buzzard retorted, "how would you like it if all of a sudden some Sargent started yelling at you? I have sixty-seven combat missions under my belt and I've destroyed 90 clankers and 12 destroyer

Droids, I DESERVE MORE RESPECT!!!!!! Meanwhile the other troopers looked on in amazement as this veteran trooper openly defied his superior. Frost, quickly dismissed the two troopers before anything big started. He raised his voice and said, "Well what a way to start a mission, I hope you all know what you're doing here, but just in case I'll say it again so listen up! The droid factory on Ringo Vinda, is manufacturing thousands of battle droids a rotation. Also it is rumored to be a research hub with new weapons appearing often, If the power reactors can be shut down and key installations destroyed, it will save the lives of hundreds, even thousands of our brothers" After this all the men were silent. Frost said their shuttle would arrive very soon, so every clone should triple check his weapons and gear. An ARF trooper from the 501st who called himself Grinder nervously asked Frost what were the odds of them surviving and Frost was just about to answer when one of the pilots from their shuttle arrived to say it was time to move out. "All right then boys, you heard the pilot lets get rid of those clankers! Frost said.

My first story mission of many to come!

I thought maybe some of you guys might want to make up multiple story lines to go along with this one it might be fun! Hope you enjoyed my build!

Sincerely,

ARC trooper Frost a.k.a Sir Henry of Wickware.

This custom titanium frame was made into something special by il Maestro Dario Pegoretti. For those interested, custom finishes by Dario can be incorporated into your new ti frame. Ti with Pegoretti artwork... what more could you want in life?

Different finishes on the titanium frame of my Enigma Echo roadbike - just plain metal, but brushed, shot-blasted, and polished for a stunning logo effect.

This Nouveau Scepter black titanium and 22kt gold pen was turned using a beautiful piece of olivwood. This pen is not only a pleasure to write with but also to hold, I hope the recipient will enjoy.

Would like to combine these two "relatives" in the same piece :) WIP

Mini diecast helmets from Star Wars The Force Awakens. Slightly bigger than 1/6th scale. Series 01 – Kylo Ren, Poe Dameron and Series 02 Captain Phasma and First Order Stormtrooper by Hasbro in released in early 2016.

My Hall of Fame is not going to be limited to only digital. It is for any kind of camera that fits the criteria set in my introduction.

So I think the Leica M6 is an easy, no brainer HOF selection. Leica produced a wonderful brochure to market the M6 when it was introduced. It featured the famous portrait of Che Guevara (which incidentally was made with an M2) and it asked the question: "How Revolutionary Should Your Camera Be?" Indeed Leica. My HOF is going to be somewhat informal at times. I could really put the whole M series here, because they are beautiful mechanical rangefinders that distill photography down to its essentials: composition, distance, exposure. It is brilliant in its simplicity, and simply brilliant. I think I will leave it there.

The M6 Titanium version is mated with another classic, the Leica 40mm Summicron lens, and a Bip Match Techinal shutter release - that's the bug sitting on the shutter button.

Testing the skidmark propellant with a small motor today at NASA Ames. The sparks are molten titanium.

Next weekend, I plan to launch the V2.1 with the largest version of this motor available, the N2801, which is well over 100x this one.

And it’s illegal in California, so off to the Nevada desert we go. It should also be the loudest launch I have heard…. Will try to capture that somehow on video.

A great morning to ride in the shadow of the palm trees.

titanium makes cool colors and patterns when it gets burned. it looks like burnished leather.

I felt like I was taking a lot of pictures at night, so I got out early and took pictures in the sunny daytime. not sure I know what I'm doing. a lot of the skies got blown out, but in a kind of a neat way, so it's okay.
