You like to spend your weekend on a comfy couch, reading a good book, but you have difficulty finding just the right novel?
Meet Flavia de Luce, heroine of the wonderful “The Sweetness at the bottom of the Pie” by Alan Bradley.
Flavia is, despite the terrible affliction of being born a girl (hehe), a fantastic character with a great interest in chemistry, especially poisons…
After she discovers a body in the cucumber patch, Flavia decides to investigate on her own…
It’s a wonderful book, and my Uncle and I enjoyed it tremendously. Flavia is brilliant and makes a certain boy wizard look quite dull in comparison ;-)
Read it now! :-)

The Tip-Top House in Sargent's Purchase, NH (1853). It sits only feet from the summit (6,288 ft) of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeastern United States. Mount Washington is legendary for its severe weather, with the highest ever recorded wind speed in the US recorded here, at 231 MPH. Darby Field was the first settler to climb its peak in 1642. The Tip-Top House has walls as thick as eight feet to keep the travelers warm inside. It was built in 1853 to compete with the Summit House, another hotel atop the mountain. The stones comprising the exterior were blasted out of the mountain. In 1877, the hotel began printing of Among the Clouds, a magazine for the mountain. The hotel fell on hard times in the late 19th century, and it was abandoned. However, a 1908 fire destroyed all of the buildings on the top of Mount Washington except the stone Tip-Top House. As the only remaining building, it was again renovated into a hotel. It is now a museum in Mount Washington State Park.

Here's some pool cleaning tips to keep your pool sparkling clean and clear from Malibu Pool Service. Monitoring your pool chemicals is the most important step in keeping a pool inviting and ready for swimmers. You need to make sure that your pH and alkalinity are tested regularly and adjust your pool chemicals as needed. You also need to test your chlorine to make sure that there's not excess chlorine or too little chlorine which could result in bacteria growing in the water. So, maintaining your pH and your chemical levels is very important towards running a clean pool. We also advise using a pool skimmer at least once a day to remove debris such as leaves and bugs from the surface of the pool water. In addition, make sure you clean out the pool filters everyday as debris will collect in those filters and if they stop up, then the flow of the water and the exodus of the debris, will cease.
You can also use a brush to clean your tile line weekly and that will help prevent hard buildup on the sides of your pool. Hard buildup can require acid washing or excessive work to remove and can really bring down the appearance of a pool. So, we definitely recommend scrubbing that tile line once a week to prevent that hard buildup.
Thank you for your interest in Malibu Pool Service and Supply. Please feel free to peruse our website and contact us for any of your pool service needs in Arizona, particularly in the Queen Creek, San Tan Valley area and Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert but all over the Phoenix Metropolitan area as well. If you've ever purchased seeds, needed to ground them up for a recipe, and thought, "Hey I'll just chop 'em up fine with my knife," you probably are well acquainted with how impossible it is to keep those little things from jumping and skipping completely off the board. How do you make it stop? Drizzle some oil over them. It works, I promise.
