Tread lightly...

Among the rocks at work I found these tiny little lichens growing in clusters. I think the recent rain has brought them out of their little hidey holes...

SOOC.

If you are so inclined, you may want to enter their world

a wee bit of e a r t h loam trapped inside a wee r a i n d r o p on a leaf

Rain, it knows its far, far away. And so, it choose to take a chance and wait it out beneath the leafs. In a tiny reservoir, he holds some water, on wich it can survive for a long time. But underneath the same tree, a lot of its friends have lost the fight. Empty shells litter the ground, making for a graveyard of tiny lives that ended by the draught. But rain will come shortly little fella... so stay strong, wait and see. Or so... we hope...

Pin and Hard Light

For this week´s macro challenge our task assigned was to seek hard light

This is a push pin from our cork board.

Happy Macro Monday to all ...

In the Italian dolomites

A teeny tiny crab spider. Only a few millimetres in length.

A captivating macro scene that highlights the unexpected beauty of the forest in autumn. Amongst the vibrant hues of fallen leaves, a pair of tiny, ethereal purple bonnet mushrooms (likely a species of Mycena) stand tall on their slender stalks. Their delicate colour is a stunning contrast to the deep oranges and browns of the decaying foliage and the fresh, bright green of the surrounding undergrowth. It's a reminder to look closely and appreciate the small, hidden wonders in nature.

a night of rain; the water collected in small pools in the rocks. these are tiny worlds that exist for only a short time and then are gone with the sun.

Brandywine gorge, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Ohio.

Inspired by this month's theme on RogueBricks: "Tiny World of Wonders" I built the Snail mount that I posted before. I had to much fun that I added more and more figures and details until this scene was born.

For the beetle carriage I made use of a beetle design the other Jonas built, when he visited me last time.

Hope you enjoy the journey to the tiny fantasy world!

Gerbera Daisy Seed Pods

For this week´s macro challenge our task assigned was to take two words from a list and then capture a macro image illustrating the combination of the two chosen words. My choice was "Fuzzy" and "Plant". I have some plants growing under lights and they provided me with my subject this round.

This is a seed pod from a Gerbera Daisy caught up in the fuzzyness of the plant stem.

Happy Macro Monday to all ...

Warming it's wings, on what maybe be the last warm day of the year! :(

I've never tried taking photos of butterflies before - it's not really my 'thing', but there were loads of them - and I was trying out a new lens!

I am quite pleased with the result. :)

Captured this delicate moment of nature in perfect harmony, a vibrant blue flower paired with a tiny red ladybug. The bright colours and gentle details make this macro shot feel like a tiny world of its own.

Succulent plant

For this week´s macro challenge our task assigned was to seek curves in our image.

"Baby" Succulent - NO idea what its correct name would be. Found among some of the many plants in our south window.

Was playing with my "Pringles" flash to capture this little fellow.

Happy Macro Monday to all ...

Happy Sliders Sunday everyone!

This is a uncommon black and white variant of the lady beetle, likely a fifteen-point lady beetle (ladybug), captured along a leaf margin.

Thanks Ed for the idea! My first try at this. Check out Ed's stream: www.flickr.com/photos/28039459@N08/

Dragonfly

Pantala flavescens, the globe skimmer, globe wanderer or wandering glider, is a wide-ranging dragonfly of the family Libellulidae.

It is considered to be the most widespread dragonfly on the planet with good population on every continent except Antarctica although rare in Europe.

Thanks Wikipedia, now I know
