That was the plan...
This is a rare glimpse into a top secret laboratory located somewhere in the Alps. The device you see is the so-called "Dimension Skipper™", a vehicle constructed for space and dimension travels. The special construction of the Dimension Skipper™ allows travels to other planets, solar systems or universes, and dimensions/parallel universes within seconds. An important part of the device is its "Home Anchor™" which "remembers" the journey's starting point in case you should get lost between the dimensions or got rerouted to another designation due to dimensional interferences or "pollution". The laboratory is located deep down in a top secret tunnel system in order to prevent said interferences.
Here you can witness the final preparations for the Dimension Skipper's™ maiden voyage, a moment of utmost concentration and precision. Coordinates were set to the centre of the universe, but, alas, one thing led to another, John (the guy in yellow) forgot to close the lab doors properly, Jim (the guy in green in the middle operating the Home Anchor™) happened to be a little jumpy at the prospect of writing history soon, and James (on the right) remembered at that rather unpropitious moment that he had forgotten to bring his lunchbox. In the end they found themselves on my living room table. "This is the centre of the universe? Man, this place looks cluttered."

The whole "device" is 5 cm (= about 1.968503937 inches) long.

Es gibt in etwa 20 verschiedene Arten von Stummelfüsschen die optisch kaum voneinander zu unterscheiden sind. Ich versuche es also gar nicht. Sind auch so Pilze die man schon x-mal fotografiert hat und doch immer wieder denkt, man hätte noch eine schönere Gruppe gefunden.

Hidden somewhere in this photo, is an insect, which I only spotted whilst post-processing this image. Can you spot it?
Beauty is easy to find, just step outside! Wear socks over your shoes so that you can walk across the skating rink that used to be a patio. The grass has crystallized, and crunches loudly in the stillness. The old maple tree is wearing a tiny little world, with icy rivulets and green moss throughout the ridges and valleys. The inhabitants are sleeping now, buried beneath the frozen layers…dreaming of a time of warmth and renewal. The dangerous journey from home to the frosty winter wonderland will be worth it, though! Just don’t forget your socks….

Schon wieder eine Gruppe von Haarbecherchen auf einem Fichtenästchen. Hatte kürzlich bereits eine hochgeladen. Es scheint sich hier aber um eine andere Art zu handeln. Es sind nur an den Rändern feine Häärchen zu sehen. Man sieht allerdings die Stiele gar nicht. Vielleicht sind die hier nur etwas älter. Zudem reichte hier das Makro in 2:1 während bei der vorherigen Gruppe noch der 1.4-fach Konverter zum Einsatz kam.

Outtake for Macro Monday's "Heart". Shot inside the burned out candle just like my official entry (please check out the first comment). This time I desaturated the red only a little.

The Fae Council. Huddled together in the soft, diffused light, their delicately wrinkled caps tilted slightly as if engaged in a secret, silent deliberation. They stood as small, ephemeral monarchs of the undergrowth, guardians of the earth’s quiet mysteries. The light above seemed to stream down specifically to illuminate their meeting, lending an otherworldly glow to the damp forest floor. To the human eye, they were fungi, but to the spirit of the woods, they were the silent keepers of ancient agreements, their presence marking a spot where the everyday world gave way to pure enchantment.

The Chelsea Flower Show
Friday 22nd June 2015
Today I went to the Flower Show, it was marvellous. Flowers; Gardens and Sculpture right up my street. I have always concentrated mostly on flowers, so you will excuse that there are very few garden images in my stream. I think I like Irises most, followed closely by Dahlias; Peonies and Tulips. I will endeavour to post these (+ others) over the next two or three months (in between Rome; Churches and Stained Glass). Hope you like them.

it's amazing how much weight these tiny spiderweb threads can sustain... I cropped this quite a bit to get close enough to see the street refracted in the droplets...these were pretty tiny!
