At the public boat launch on the Mississippi River, a labrador retriever playing fetch made for some great photos as the sun was going down.
At Hannah Point on Livingston Island in the South Shetlands, just a little further north, the Gentoos had half-grown chicks already, but here at Cuverville Island on the Antarctic Peninsula, our southernmost point, most were still incubating eggs. A few had tiny chicks, just hatched.
Made with The Time Machine. Decided to do a few with milk this time. Very messy but they come out very nicely. I am using two flashes - one directed at a blue background and one in front to highlight the drop and the background. Skim milk dropped into water with some blue food dye. I could never do these drops before I had the drip kit.
No, this is not photoshopped. I use a program for levels, resizing and cleaning up stray drops and bubbles, etc. This is all done with the timing of The Time Machine and the drip kit!

This tiny bronze train engine is actually a pencil sharpener. Its sharpening mechanism is cleverly hidden behind the door to the train cab. HMM!

Just had to share more photos of this little 3 week old sweetie pie who's photos I took yesterday... :)
I have done this pose before... but I love it with every tiny foot that I photograph... :)
A series of a tiny Skipper that visits our small potted Lantana. About 1/2 inch long. Only butterfly so far, very unusual. It has these all to itself and seems to be loving that it does. Sorry for so many photos of the same thing. Hopefully others will visit.
This tiny little Allen hummingbird is a fierce defender of it's territory… constantly chasing away other hummingbirds coming close to the feeder in my yard!
Macro photography. Tiny water droplets on a cactus. If you look closely, you will the reflection of a flower inside the water drop.
Seen in the yard, this is a seriously tiny mushroom. Take a look at the next or attached pic, it is smaller than a dime. unknown variety to me.
Although each flower is less than an inch across these tiny gems do their part to add beauty to the central Texas hill country landscape
Finally some time to revisit the pictures I took on my summer holiday. This one was taken in the Bornean jungle, during a jungle walk. It pays to take a few primes instead of one all-purpose lens. It takes some changing and some lugging around, but it's well worth it...
This very very tiny unknown wildflower is only about 1/4 inch and each blossom only blooms for a very short time. This is what it looks like when it goes seed www.flickr.com/photos/124964990@N03/15066565527/
