Taken in a 'dance tent' at a local street event

Wolverhampton Lichfield Street and one of those buses and girls shots I'm known for. On this occasion my shutter speed selection button got disturbed without my knowledge and the ones I t took here are all spoilt. However I still quite like this of BX61 XBV in a way as it's a bit like one of those early colour illustrations from the Sixties we found in Buses Annual and other publications.

As everyone settled into the place it was great to see Mums and Dads getting a chance for some quality time with their families.

It is a place often coming in evening scenery shooting.

It shows a beautiful sunset view.

Winter time... winter sleep!

Hibernation time.

Got a cookie before I doze off till March?

Helping my daughter to make some curtains.

We have been enjoying the time together, measuring, pattern matching, measuring again then deciding yep it's OK to finally cut. We have laughed and sworn (a little bit) and had fun.

We don't always realise what special times these ordinary days are until it's too late.

The last few days have reminded me of the time I spent with my mum as she helped me to make my own curtains when we first moved into our cottage. I miss her.

Time

time turns the weather from hot and cold,

time makes us grow old,

time is a split decision,

time is what we have alot in prison,

time is something you cant buy,

time keeps going even after you die,

time is money and money is time,

time is what you get when you commit a crime,

time is something you cant break,

time is something you learn from a mistake,

time doesnt grant you wishes,

time is based on decisions,

time is something you remember from the past,

time is something that goes by so fast,

time gives u another try,

time makes you laugh and cry,

time makes you happy and sad,

time is something you want more but never had,

time has no end,

time can make you a better man,

time makes you choose wrong from right,

time turns day to night,

time makes you forgive but not forget,

time is something you could regret,

time makes you go under pressure,

time is something you will always treasure,

time is never enough,

time is easy but also rough,

time can make you rich or poor,

time is something we all want more.

"The theory that, all the weakly children being dead, the rate would fall off is not so far borne out by the facts. The strong ones must be dying now and they will all be dead by the spring of 1903" Statement by Lord Milner (1901)

Proportionately more Boer (farmer) women and children died in the British concentration camps in South Africa than all who died in the Nazi camps during WW2.

I told some of you last Thursday of the principles of the Time Machine, and showed you the actual thing itself, incomplete in the workshop. There it is now, a little travel-worn, truly; and one of the ivory bars is cracked, and a brass rail bent; but the rest of it’s sound enough. I expected to finish it on Friday; but on Friday, when the putting together was nearly done, I found that one of the nickel bars was exactly one inch too short, and this I had to get remade; so that the thing was not complete until this morning. It was at ten o’clock today that the first of all Time Machines began its career. I gave it a last tap, tried all the screws again, put one more drop of oil on the quartz rod, and sat myself in the saddle. I suppose a suicide who holds a pistol to his skull feels much the same wonder at what will come next as I felt then. - H. G. Wells

The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.

"For man, autumn is a time of harvest, of gathering together.

For nature, it is a time of sowing, of scattering abroad."

this is an upload for rockcake's owl friday group. the premise is simple you upload a photo of something owl related on a friday. i don't think its that strict, i think you can add them to the group when ever you want but she only let them in the group on a friday. was meant to upload this last friday (christmas eve) but i had a few after effects rendering issues still have not fixed the issue but i did come up with a work around

check out my other time lapses of me and rockcakes building stuff out of sand this is the first time that we have filmed our self building stuff out of show

It was, for some, Russian Camera week, so I pulled out my c.1940's pre-war FED"1" with a roll of Arista Ultra 100. This isn't an easy camera to shoot with, given the approximate shutter speeds, the FEDf3.5 50mm uncoated and imprecise apertures, and Barnack style loading, but it's a fun challenge nonetheless. Adding to the opportunity was that my film decided to stick inside the cannister (my own rolling from bulk) so many overlaps/double exposures and torn film contributing to the experience. Even so, tried to do some reasonable capture, remembering that sometimes it's the process that's the product. Thanks for the flickeranians who continue to inspire and get me off my tush to observe rather than merely see.

I hadn't realized when taking this shot that there were 2 flies here.

It's almost time for the caravans to come out of their wintersleep.

Next week the campings will open their gates and receive their customers.

And these kind of pictures can be seen all over.

All my photo's on "B L A C K" here

There's been quite a lot of snow around here recently, but I never had any occasion to go out and shoot...

Yesterday I decided to try and go on the roads no matter what (and I was just in time: it's melting very fast)

I was rewarded with a bit of sun.

This is the "Château de Flamanville", a great place where I go chasing dragonflies in the summer.

ODC-Planning

When I snapped this photo I was planning on finishing up after Stu cut the grass with the riding lawn mower. He can't get as close to the trees as I can with the push mower. My mower wasn't as low as the one Stu used, therefore, I have greener patches than he did. This mower is self propelled so all i do is pull on the handle and it moves faster. It really does make quick work of the grass. I'm also making my way down into the culvert so we can plant wildflowers in there next spring.

I'm doing fine, but now I appreciate what time really is. It's taken me a while, but I think I can now understand completely.
