Maldivian Board repairs. This will be exhibited as part of Instant Art Paris in November.
Thwarted by construction activities below on Queen St. during our Toronto photo outing, we switched plans to photograph the iconic Eaton-Bay walkway from inside.
Seems like only yesterday that Katie and I were out trying to shoot the August Super Moon and here it is time to try again for the September Super Moon. "Stop the merry-go-round, I want to get off" comes to mind.
Perfect night.... beautiful weather and clear skies... but one of us had to work, and then took too long to get moving after work as well... so the moon was already high in the sky when we reached our destination. It was only a test run anyway.... but unfortunately the weather doesn't sound promising for the next two nights. Time will tell.... and fly.

I shot this on actual Time Zero film. Look at that creamy skin. It is like a dream. I'm going to miss that film...

I just changed work locations this past week; it's been a very emotional roller coaster for me. I had started my previous job with a lot of expectations and hopes but as time went on I became more and more unhappy. There was a day when I realized that, due to how my coworkers treated me and how terribly things were managed at my lab, my frustration, anger, and anxieties had built up so much that I almost lost all my enthusiasm for a job I loved so much. It became obvious that it was time to move on to a new place. So now I am at a new lab with a longer commute. Even after just a couple days I can feel the more positive energy and attitude; it's like a tremendous weight has been lifted. I wish I had reflected on my unhappiness sooner and not spent so much time and effort trying to fix the problems that I couldn't solve (for a variety of reasons), it's over now and I am so very excited for my fresh start.
So remember folks to take time for self reflection and to make positive changes whenever possible to improve your life.

The Kermode bears (both the black and the rarer white phase called spirit bear) eat constantly during the time of plenty when the spawning salmon fill the streams of the Pacific Northwest, preparing for their long hibernation when they go without food for several months. I saw a number of bears, who were clearly full, catch salmon and just strip out the eggs, leaving the rest of the body for other scavengers in the area. The bears often drag their catches into the woods where the nutrients feed the rainforest.

Denise came this morning and whisked me away to Okanagan Lake to let the dog swim.
I think this will be my last time there before we go.
I got this french canadian guy named David to take a picture of us by the tree. It is awful. I had my eyes closed, Denise looked half asleep. That's what I get for letting a stranger take a picture that means alot to me. oh well. He tried.
I need a tripod. And a remote. Yup!
This was taken after the little chicks had left the nest and were seeking refuge in the fire flag. went to check on them yesterday but did not see any chicks although the mother was flying into one of the nearby bushes with fun. I have a feeling that only one has survived. It certainly is not easy for these little guys to make it.
I have two left in the series to post and then I will not be posting again until around the middle of July.
