Tilt-shift pictures are taken from an higher point of view and then modified in photoshop to make it look like a smaller scale. You can also use a tilt-shift lens to do it directly while taking the picture.

You add blur to make it seems like the picture was taken in macro and that the elements in front and background are out of focus.

To make it look like a model, you can play with the levels to gice it an artificial look.

I think I adjusted the curves a little wrong. The sky is too bright.

la fotografía esta en en un encuadre horizontal y angulo cotrapicada, para generar el efecto que se esta viendo desde arriba, en Ps intervine la fotografía para generar el efecto tilt shift y que los carro parecieran miniatura y de juguete,decidí tomar la fotografía al trafico fluido para que la atención fuera en unos cuantos carros nada más.

Use una velocidad muy alta ya que como no había trafico los carros iban super rápido y tenia que congelarlos en la escena.

One of my first attempts at Tilt Shift – faking miniatures. This was created in post-process as it looks way too difficult in-camera and making your own lens.

Efecto de maqueta de la entrada al Maremagnum. No está muy conseguida porque le falta más luz direccional, pero la inclinación es suficiente para que los peatones parezcan figurines.

Is is real? The symmetrical trees almost makes this really look like a miniature model instead of some tilt-shifting.
