Taken during a road trip I did in July. This is my first attempt using the Tilt Shift Technique to get this miniature feeling.
I took this in May of 2004 from the 8th floor of the High Point-Radisson hotel in High Point, NC. I figured it would be a decent starting point for my test even with the bad quality. I ran the Sharpen filter on it a few times because the original was a little blurry.
This was used as the base for the Focus Blur test.

my camera has a miniature setting to take tilt-shift photos (miniaturized photos, were everything look miniature/like models)
Finally picked up a legit setup for tilt-shift photography. Got an Arax 8 degree tilt adapter to stick an old 50mm Nikkor 1.8 on a Sony a5000, and here's my first test across the party city. Definitely looking forward to more

Here I attempted to align the focal plane with the side of the car, I think I got it pretty close. Tried aligning to the front wheel, but it wasn't nearly as pronounced an effect. The lens is also shifted up while pointed straigt ahead at ground level. Not sure how much benefit that gives yet, but I might as well try it...

There were some concerns when I read on the Nikon USA web site that the 45mm Tilt-Shift lens was not usable with the D4... well, the concerns were unfounded, it works very well, meters and focuses properly... it is very usable.
Tilt-Shift effect used to give the illusion of looking at a minature world. ST Augustines church in Penarth can be seen upon the hill on the other side of the flyover with the Penarth Marina hidden from view in front of the trees. Captured in Grangetown Cardiff.
There are several of these animal statues all over the campus. I liked the blue in the iron reflecting the sky, against the warm autumn colors in the background.
