This shot was taken in 2005, but it is the same tiger that appears on the cover of the September 2007 Popular Photography
One of the Beautiful Tigers at Whipsnade Zoo... My favorite of the Big Cats... These were very difficult to photograph through two layers of fencing.....
Another shot of him up on top of his platform, a couple of comments down the page.. (As I did it wrong the first time lol)

And this is my Favorite Tiger poem......
Tyger Tyger. burning bright,
In the forests of the night;
What immortal hand or eye.
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies.
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat.
What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp.
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears
And watered heaven with their tears:
Did he smile His work to see?
Did he who made the lamb make thee?
Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
What immortal hand or eye,
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
The Tyger

Finally managed to catch these guys awake (even if they weren't really doing much) during a quick visit to Taronga Zoo today.
This tiger wasnt at a zoo. We were able to play with it and pet it all day. There is another picture of my son petting it on my page
In fear of my life I took this picture. The threat was not coming from the tiger, because a thick glass window was between us, but from these prams and trollies that hit me from behind :P
I just got lucky getting his pic...every other time I've looked for him he is hiding back behind some trees. So I felt good to get anything.
