Mostly wooden "Cottages" built before the war around old Railway carriages when no planning permission was needed. The 2010 Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Tidy Schools in the Community Awards took place in County Hall, Dún Laoghaire today, where the much-coveted award for Tidy School of the Year 2010 went to Mount Anville Primary School, Stillorgan.
The school’s hard work was clearly illustrated by the pride taken in the maintenance of the school grounds and their proactive approach to environmental issues affecting their school and the environment around them. Particular attention was given to the local wildlife with the children growing nectar and wildflower meadows, maintaining a native tree corridor and providing special homes for bees and hedgehogs.
