Soaked people coming off Tidal Wave. The fools.

Mont St Michele reflects in the tidal pools that surround it. The rapid tidal flow here turned this image off for the night within minutes of this capture.

Tidal Wave is a giant water ride located at Thorpe Park in Surrey, England, UK. It was opened in 2000 and was Tussauds' first major investment in the park.

When the ride was constructed in 2000 it was the tallest water ride in Europe and retained the title until 2002, when Hydro at Oakwood Theme Park was opened. From 2006 to 2009, the ride was sponsored by Original Source, and from 2010 by Dr. Pepper.

I'm proud of this shot

This little bridge leads walkers to sqeeky Beach and beyond as well as to Tongue Point and The Tidal River Lookout. Even on an overcast day here the rocks emit strong colours.

We were told to tend a garden but we preffered to build a city.

We were made for relationship but we opted for independance.

Jesus is the bridge back home.

The Bay of Fundy has huge tides wanting to see the tidal bore or incoming which is a phenomenon in these parts we headed to local spot to view. So did half a dozen others but instead of a 18" it was maybe 12" , still fascinating and you could hear it coming like a faint freight train ,BEST VIEWED SLIDESHOW@ 1 SECOND INTERVALShttp://snipurl.com/9l1o

Look at that wave!!!!!...

Got to wear my TIDAL suits outside of a studio or Dragon*Con. Only got to wear them an hour and half...but fun. Also showed off the new grammy!

The Pacific coast tidal pools have a fascinating array of plant and animal life. This particularly beautiful one was photographed at China Cove in Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, a small point of land south of Carmel, California, and one of the most photographed locations in the world. I used to live a couple of miles from there and wandered over to take photographs from time to time. Another photo from the archives, taken about 1974.

"Another beach, another world.

Elizabeth walked along purple-tinged sand, the skiff keeping pace a few meters behind her. The skiff’s pilot, Delavar, was an old acquaintance on whose loyalty and reflexes she was more than ready to rely. Somewhere behind the navy sky the Cairns ships hung in gravity-defying non-orbit, in any emergency a screaming red-hot minute away.

The air was thick and stank of iodine. A few tens of meters to her left, the last exhausted ripples of breakers whose surf broke hundreds of meters farther away hissed into the sand. The tide was far out and on the turn. Giant oystercatchers the size of moas stalked the shallows, stabbing the sand with beaks like swords. Kilometers to her right, a row of cliffs denned the horizon.

This beach was huge, visible from space as a white crescent like a life-size drawing of a small moon. They’d called it Atlantis Flats.

The red sun loomed high in the sky, far bigger than any sun she’d ever stood beneath, but utterly dwarfed by the ringed gas giant that, gibbous, filled an eighth of the sky above the sea. It looked as though it were floating on the ocean beyond the horizon, the colors of its bands and the dark of its nightside segment and a long, wavy ink-black line from its razor-thin ring bleeding into the water."

Here's one of a couple more panoramic shots from our D.C. trip. This was taken while on a Tourmobile, crossing the bridge on the opposite side of the Basin - the bus was moving at the time, so it's not quite as sharp as it could be, but I like the view...

The tidal wave caused by the ride...Tidal Wave =P

Brace yourself for a tsunami of thrills on one of the UK's tallest log flumes – Tidal Wave sponsored by Dr Pepper!

Thrill seekers who ride Tidal Wave can kiss dryness goodbye, experiencing a heart-stopping 85ft plunge into the blue, producing the tallest wall of water this side of the North Sea. You will get wet!

This is one water ride where satisfaction, not just a serious drenching, is guaranteed!

These markers on the side of Providence's 1773 Market House commemorate two significant weather events ..

Turnagain Arm is famous for its tidal bores. When there is a particularly low tide, the inrushing new high tide often appears as a wall of water.

We happened to park along Turnagain Arm just when such a bore was to occur.

You can see the bore wall as a thin white line just below the water "horizon". We were too far away to get good photos, but the bore was very impressive when viewed through binoculars. The face of the bore was at least 2 miles from us, so it could have been from 10 to 40 feet tall.

Be sure to view the larger sizes to see the detail (just click on the image).
