This is my giant talking Tick. I added the ViewMaster™ which never really appeared in the cartoon. It was a fluke that I found one his size. Now he's packed up and in my shed where he will probably rot forever.
With a mighty leap I snagged Corin's setlist after the show. Also, my ticket stub and bracelet dohickey.
This dead tick I found on the head of Valéas. The natural product, based on garlic, he had with his food, didn't repell this little tick, but it seams that the frontline did kill it before it could suck itself full with blood untill it's as big as 1 cm!
Next month, he gets advantix again. Never had problems the last year when he had that product.

I don't remember what this plant is but it looks like it has bloated ticks all over. Hence my nickname.

Never thought I'd find a tick in the wild! Wild meaning not on our pets or us. Found it on a square piece of wood (the kind used to make the legs of a deck or porch) while spraying for fire ants. Appears to be a wood tick, hence the location it was found.
Much more worrisome are the deer ticks, but haven't taken any off the pets in quite a while... guess the deer are plentiful this year... I can tell because the deer have stomped a path through the understory of the woods behind our house. They even use the walking path i created from their previous stompings a few years ago. Now i have another path to clear... lol...
I had prettier pics planned for today but this is really representaive of my day. Third consecutive day feeling something crawling around my neck and pulling one of these little buggers off. We are infested right now. Working on a better strategy to not get them when I walk the dogs. This is our 3rd year where we have given in and are using tick meds on the dogs. As for the shot, I pulled it off, stuck it in a container, grabbed a piece of paper and tried to photograph it. It would not stop moving and I had a hard time not squishing it right away. This is a crop of the original shot to better fill the frame. The tick is around 2-3mm.

Ok so we can all see this is not the best kingfisher shot but this is my first (well about my twentieth of kingfishers today ha ha) and it was taken on Holywells park!!!!! Finally one I can tick of the list and a photographic dream accomplished!
She was none too happy to have a camera shoved in her face, but she wasn't going to risk losing her spot on the flower bud to do something about it.
Counting down the days until summer!
