I have just got around to looking at the pictures I took of a poorly pigeon in the garden. I almost wished I hadn't, this is the only cropped image I feel I can put on Flickr as some of the others are too awful.
I am assuming they are ticks and they had done far more damage to the other side of the pigeons head. I had thought it had been attacked by a bird of prey, when I took these pictures and had survived as it limped away.

I spotted a tick on my carpet (please not that I haven't vacuumed this room in a while) and tried to disorient it with my flash before either flushing or burning the fellow. Not even caring about the shot I took, I got this... completely unedited minus a crop.

I was "attacked" by ticks in the forest last Sunday. I've never had any of them before and was really surprised how calm I was when I found 3 of them on my legs. Yikes. I've had my 3rd tick vaccination in May that will last for 3 years. It's highly recommended to get the shots here. Oh, those are the 'Slovak' ticks, I think the Czech ones don't like me since I haven't had any for more than 2 years! *touches the wood*

i'm no stranger to ticks and realize this is prime habitat, but this field was too much to deal with! every time i looked down a few were crawling up my legs... surprisingly fast, the little bastards
the trees mark the border created by a fence surrounding one of the 'hazardous materials' areas
considering my little friends, i wasn't inspired to do anything but take a snapshot and get out of there
For anyone who has ever wondered what makes that persistant ticking.
This cicada was on a low branch which was blowing about too much to film; however he seemed happy enough to move onto my hand and perform from there.

Summer Exhibition 2022
(June to August 2022)
Summer at the RA is not just a time of year, it’s the world’s most joyful art experience. Run without interruption since 1769, the Summer Exhibition showcases art in all forms, from prints, painting, film and photography, to architectural works and sculpture by invited artists, Royal Academicians and emerging talent.
After two years in winter, it’s back where it should be. The theme chosen by the exhibition’s coordinator, Alison Wilding RA, is ‘Climate’. Whether as a crisis or opportunity, or simply our everyday experience, it is an all-embracing subject.
Whether you’re an experience seeker, a budding art collector or a culture-craving family, we know you’ll find the art for you: the exhibition features two rooms of prints selected by Grayson Perry RA, a structure made of elephant dung bricks, and new work by the Singh Twins. Outside this year is a large-scale immersive installation bringing nature and water to the courtyard, by Spanish artist Cristina Iglesias.
