Saturday night in Chalkidiki and what better to do than wait for the thunders with the remote trigger in one hand and a can of beer in the other. It was around 2 in the morning when it started. Dark all around, apart from the annoying street lights at the back which gave this yellowish light on the sand.
I was really amazed by the colour of the sky when I looked at the preview on my camera. All you see at that moment is a flash and then darkness again. To bad that the rain started just before the main "show"...
I had to pack up and leave because, thunders are great but a still working 5dMkII is even better...
I just couldnt risk it!
The thunderstorm and cell that spawned a tornado that landed in the dry part of Folsom Lake and headed east-bound across western El Dorado County (doing some damage but no injuries so far as I know) and passing to the north of our house. I could head thunder as I took these pictures and got back inside as quickly as taking pictures would permit. The thundercell was over central El Dorado County as I took this picture.
I was just about to fall asleep, when I noticed a lightning. I went to my bedroom's window and was able to get some shots of this cloud-to-cloud lightning.
There was a Thunderstorm coming in, so I did what most people would do, and stood in the middle of the road taking photos...

Finally a new shot! This thunderstorm happend about an hour ago and was at least 20km away (thus you can't see the lightning).

Sunset from my favorite place to see sunset (Cascade Head, Oregon Coast). This particular sunset was great, but the mile and a half run back to the car in the dark during a thunderstorm with hail and whatnot wasn't as much fun.

Barograph traces of thunderstorms on consecutive weeks in Munich during August 2013. The nights are 3/4 and 7/7 of August. I just notices that the pressure profiles were very similar.
This was taken after one of the thunderstorms that had hit that area. This during a sunset and no filters were used.
