Long exposure of the stars through a mesquite tree.

Don't ask, I've no idea.

With 258's new schedule, the morning Orrick shot is now constantly available. Getting an eastbound here in morning light used to be a rarity after 120's schedule change several years ago.

The CTC siding here is on its deathbed as the turnout at Curry (east end) has been removed. It's no surprise given it's condition and seldom use. I've only seen MOW equipment parked here. I wonder what that will mean for the west end and the nice signal bridge.

Breaking through

The battle was with the light trying to break through and the foggy mist closing in.

After 30 mins - the fog won.

Want to give you all a big thank you, for being my friends, it means so much. To be able to travel the world via Flickr, viewing all your beautiful images, admiring your scenery, animals and birds, some of the postings I could only ever dream of seeing, and local birder photographers, with help in locating rare visitors they have seen , thank you. Special thanks to Les Woodward for coaching my camera skills,in the past, and sowing the birding bug! and still a lot to learn, I hear you say.

You are a very friendly and talented lot, and my world would not be the same without you.......God bless you all ..Tomx.

Rather than the MP 56 detector tipping us off, we were watching a track light on the approach to CP Melrude. Pulling off on a private drive, the distinct sound of an M-2 horn echoing through the woods from Arizona Road was clear. A 1 x 1 autorack train heads south and is nearing MP 50. In all the years up here taking photos, this is only the second shot from this perspective that I have.

BNSF 9849 pushes through an early winter snow as it leads this empty RTR (UCEX) coal train north on the BNSF Hannibal Sub. just outside of Foley, Mo.

A BNSF manifest passes through Northtown Yard, ducking under the CPKC main. Already at track speed on the main, this train seems to have passed through the massive yard without stopping to work.

A bright and sunny day found us deep in the woods on Central Maine and Quebec's Moosehead Sub watching locomotives from the new owner pulling a 77-car freight.

Blades of grass forcing their way through the snow and ice to feel the warmth of the sun.

Happy blue Monday :-)

A trio of SD70ACes leads this eastbound Provo-Denver as it approaches the west end of Leyden. While much of the mid-west is buried under multiple inches of snow, the Denver area has seen hardly any snowfall so far this winter season.

Good evening folks, more trouble in River City with Flickr and now not getting e-mail at all, unless it's slow coming in, we shall see.

Have a great evening and a great day and thank you so much for stopping by.

One of the greenhouses in the walled garden at Attingham Park, a National Trust property near Shrewsbery, Shropshire, UK.

Captured on a moored rope, with a brightly painted fishing boat behind.

A robust and pugnacious little wader, it has a short stout bill that is used to turn stones on the tideline debris in search of seashore invertebrates, but in this case taking chips or anything tossed there way, from weekend visitors.

66304 catches some dramatic winter light as it runs through what remains of Severn Tunnel Junction with 4V44 10:47 Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal to Wentloog Freightliner.

As an eastbound BNSF intermodal train highballs toward the decrepit Lexington Road Bridge in downtown Henrietta, the lights of the approaching Amtrak Southwest Cheif can be seen on Main One as it approaches from behind in a high-speed train race down the BNSF Marceline Subdivision.

WIDESPREAD, FAMILIAR small falcon, a wingspan of about 80cm, I believe this is a juvenile that has just fledged, but still staying close to the nest site . Playing peek a boo with me, on the cliff tops at Kingsdown in Kent UK. My thanks to Nick Smith for the Nod.

THANK YOU for your visit, please leave a comment, which is always appreciated, Will return a visit very shortly, Hope you all well ,have a good weekend, stay safe...........Tomx.

I'm just trying to break on through to the weekend... an entire two consecutive days off! YEY! (I usually work every Sunday) ... in the meantime, I have been trying to find excuses to go in earlier and get out earlier... and what do I get... a phone call saying "Hey! This week you can work as many hours as you want as long as you don't go into overtime!" ...as opposed to the usual... "make sure you stick to your scheduled hours because there's no payroll." I'm thinking... no, just no.... no more hours. Better things to do. Spring fever? Maybe....

Work.... getting in the way of all of the important and fun things I'd rather be doing!! UGH!!
