The Grand Rapids Turn continues west through Warba after meeting a taconite train at Draco siding. The 4 coal hoppers behind the power, was a nice touch.
Still going through the lasts pictures of the year. Already reached 13M views this year and I'm preparing myself for next year full of pictures and adventures. Here a flying nymph in the forest.

BNSF 1833 leads the L TWI620, commonly known as "The Rapids Turn" seen here exiting the bog east of Floodwood. I couldn't ask for much better shooting conditions on this gorgeous summer day.
After waiting for three WB Intermodals on the CSX Greenwich Sub, WE 221 receives the clear to proceed across the diamonds at Wellington. SD40-3 #7002 leads the quad of tigers as they head past the Lorain County Fairgrounds.
8 years ago this was out in the woods, a horse trail is here to ride horses ,now a Interstate cuts through the woods,the other half is to my back,it sure makes a lot of noise out-here in the forest
Walking through Chinatown is like stepping into a completely different place. You can see everything written in Chinese and in the picture you can also appreciate the big buildings from NYC.

. . . The illusion of looking through the telescope on the Observation platform at Stop Number 9 on Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive was made by an error on my part, but I still like the effect! South Manitou island is on the horizon on the right.

[I tried something different with these shots in my post-processing in PS. I wanted to mimic rebekka's latest portraits through lens blurring all but the core of the subject. So here, I made feathered selections of only the climbers' faces, hands, and in some cases, arms, then lens blurred the inverse. I'm happy with the results, and I will definitely have to try this again with more serious subjects.]

I like the colours on this sign on the farmhouse at Ober Saum. The flags are of the Kanton Schwyz, one of the three founding Kantons of Switzerland. Till 1958 farmers lived the whole year through on the Alpen meadow where this farm is situated. The winter entrance of the house was on the first floor because of heavy snowfall in winter.
it feels strange to stop when there are so many places I want to be, but now is time to take a breath. Now is time to work on a few things and stay here. Soon enough I'll be off on my adventures again.
