St Paul's Cathedral as seen through the eye piece of the public telescope on King Henry's Mound, Richmond Park. Ten miles as the crow flies. The view of St Paul's is protected by law and cannot be obscured. However, a council in East London approved the building of a tower block which can now be seen behind the cathedral. Red faces all round.

Remarkably translucent, the Porcelain Fungus allows the morning sunlight through their surface, revealing the delicate gills on its underside.

Leipzig is a beautiful old town, but presently while walking through it, we get an “under construction” feeling. This is special apparent at the main square, where in front of the beautiful Old Town Hall (Altes Rathaus), major civil works are going on, with the blue pipes conveying a feeling of a major surgery ...

“Leipzig's Old Town Hall was built in 1556 in the Renaissance style and remains one of Germany's largest. Located on the pretty main square of the city, it's a good orientation point

The Old City Hall was built 1556 by Hieronymus Lotter on basements of two Patrician houses. It is a beautiful Renaissance style building, 90 metres long with arcades (1906 - 09), six gables and a tower. In the 18th century the tower was enlarged and it received a Baroque spire. Till 1904 the Old City Hall was home of the city administration. Then it became home of the city museum.”

BNSF ES44DC 7458 leads a westbound BNSF empty grain train through Parkville with a very distinct (to say the least) look on its nose. Back in 2013, BNSF 7458 was involved in a wreck that had caused damage to the nose and plow that needed to be repaired. After a quick fix and paint match at Topeka, BNSF 7458 was back out on the rails. However, 11 years later, the quick patch job has turned into a fading mess that has begun to show the original brown and grey primer once again.

"How do you feel? That is the question

But I forget, you don't expect an easy answer

When something like a soul becomes initialized

And folded up like paper dolls and little notes

You can't expect a bit of hope

And while you're outside looking in

Describing what you see

Remember what you're staring at is me"

This is 'Martello' an 0-6-0 Terrier Locomotive, which was visiting the Nene Valley Railway for the Southern Railway weekend.

The London, Brighton and South Coast Railway (LB&SCR) A1 Class is an English class of 0-6-0T steam locomotive. Designed by William Stroudley, 50 members of the class were built in 1872 and between 1874 and 1880, all at Brighton Works, with this particular loco being built in 1875.

The class has received several nicknames, initially being known as "Rooters"[1] by their south London crews. However, the engines were more famously known as "Terriers" on account of the distinctive 'bark' of the exhaust beat.

Later in their careers, some engines were known as "Hayling Billy" on account of their work on the Hayling Island branch line. A pub of this name on the island was briefly home to the engine which is now No.W8 Freshwater.

I walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

And I fear no evil 'cause I'm blind to it all.

And my mind, my gun they comfort me.

Because I know I'll kill my enemies when they come.

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.

And I will dwell on this earth for ever more.

Sad I walk beside the still waters and they restore my soul.

But I can't walk on the path of the right because I'm wrong.

No I can't walk.

On the path of the right.

'Cause I'm wrong.

Yeah. I've gotten a bit creative with my titles recently, if you haven't noticed. Anyways, I've come to quite a.... problem. A difficult obstacle that I haven't solved yet. Its.... hard to think about this problem. I've been pondering about it, over and over.... yet I don't know. I'm surprised I was even able to take any photography today, because it was quite difficult to think.

But, this photo is SOOC. So, yeah, enjoy.

...and today is one more year

One of my favourite photos from the Sri Lanka trip which we were lucky enough to make before all the lock downs started.

We were already running late, and the loco, the tender tank had been looped to allow a couple of service trains to pass. With night falling fast, it was an eerie scene up in the mountains and clouds at Ambewela.

Here, the loco is entering a deep cutting, the sides graced with beautiful tree ferns lending a primordial feel to the scene.

Who are we, really, when we silence the ego’s shrill commands about who we should be, and simply listen to the song of life as it sings itself through us?

Amtrak ACS-64 no. 608 is seen leading Keystone Service train 647 through Elizabeth, NJ, en-route for Philadelphia and Harrisburg.

We went out for breakfast. Our table was near a window and, glancing through, I noticed these 'likely lads' depicted on the wall of a little courtyard.

A quick shot (camera always with me) revealed also two windows through the window, a modern window and a more ornate old one.

Who were these men, I wondered. And then I remembered the name of the Wetherspoon's pub where we had come for breakfast: "The Old Gaolhouse".

So I guess these were erstwhile prison warders. The waitress knew no more, just that this little courtyard has no doors now and is only accessible by climbing over the roof.

But this was the view I needed for
