Yesterday morning was so cold and windy. I saw these three young ladies braving the waves on the jetty - squealing and jumping as the waves got closer...
Getting ready for the winter trip to Yosemite this weekend, which led me to take another look at images I took there last year, to see what worked and what didn't.
We parked at El Capitan Bridge, and then walked along the river, and beyond the bend there's this cool vantage point of the Three Brothers. I loved the fact that there was frost on the ground. Too bad there was nothing in the sky, but it's still a beautiful vantage point.
Weather forecasts this weekend call for only a 10% chance of precip on Saturday, but maybe there will be some clouds.
Who cares though? There's never a bad time to be at Yosemite.
Three hometown friends hang out by the tracks in Nefisit, Eritrea as the morning rail action creates some commotion. They demanded I take their picture. They don't seem to care if they ever see it. Nobody's on social media. But their good spirit is eternalized in these photographs, like throwing a message in a bottle out into the ocean.
The arrival of the train into town is still a huge deal for people who live by the tracks. The sights and sounds of a working steam locomotive were said to capture the undivided attention of generations around the world, and it's nice to see that still applies.
"Don't worry about a thing,
'Cause every little thing gonna be alright!"
Rise up this mornin',
Smiled with the risin' sun,
Three little birds
Pitch by my doorstep
Singin' sweet songs
Of melodies pure and true,
Saying', ("This is my message to you")
The Nokton 40mm f1.4 does acquit itself very well, fast for its size and very sharp. There are comments on the bokeh, there always are, but I am happy with it is a general walkaround lens. One step back it's a 35mm and one forward it's a 50mm, which goes to show those two lenses are a bit close to keep changing so the compromise is a good choice, works for me. this is the SC version, lovely on B/W film and the slight difference is a help to the dynamic range of the M9 sensor now a little left behind but salvaged by better post processing programs like Capture One here where the shadows and highlights recovered nicely without, i hope, a HDR "look".
Three different Stagecoach companies are caught in this view. Namely Fife, Perth, and Strathtay. At one time Perth was the meeting place of the Alexander empire and vehicles of Fife, Midland and Northern could be seen in the town, but more importantly three different liveries were evident. The rich ayres red of Fife contasted with the golden yellow of Northern and the rich blue of Midland. This is the modern equivalent but sadly they all look the bloody same to me.
It's a shame I'm not a shoplifter lol as it doesn't take a lot to change my appearance. Here are thhree different hair styles but I must confess even though everyone seems to like it I'm not too keen on the blond wig on the left. It looks quite nice but I feel it isn't really me, however it looks nice under a beret so it will still be fine for going out in the winter.
Another three frame multiple exposure, this time looking at a rush of fresh water heading out to sea on Nolton Haven, of course!
Tripod-mounted & polarised & probably using a Kood .9 ND Grad. Also the two-second delay is engaged.

The last time I was in this park I only had a 25mm lens (in 35mm: 50mm), and these birds seemed to be mocking and teasing me with their antics knowing that they're beyond my reach. Well, today I came back with my 300mm (600mm equivalent) and I shot to my heart's content: videos and stills both! Revenge is best served deep blue! ;)

These three hooded statues atop a building on California and Kearny streets in San Francisco are strangely reminiscent of characters from the game Assassins Creed. They are rather sinister looking, almost as if this is the headquarters of a sinister, shadowy empire!
Three Questions
When this female grizzly made serious eye contact with me three questions popped into my mind.
Is it just curiosity?
Is she just warning me to get out of her space?
Is she considering me for dinner?
No matter. The answer to all three was the same. Get back into the car. I had been shooting over the hood of the car and as soon as I got back inside she lost interest and began to browse the nearby vegetation for goodies.
Found some old pictures of our big boys and remembered they'd need more camera time too! I miss photographing them! *__*
These three guys actually form a band, but funnily enough so far we've only managed to buy the most expensive instrument: the drums. If only we didn't have two super active cats I could take pics of Deven with the drums... I'll have to set up a little studio in the bathroom, I guess. :D
But indeed, Deven has his drumset, Tanath is still only dreaming of a bass guitar and Talon has just been to lazy to get himself a guitar yet, dammit. :< Oh, and we need a microphone too!

Deven is a Dollclans Kien on a Granado body,
Tanath is a Switch Hahwa on a Distant Memory body
and Talon is a Crobidoll Yuri owned by xpLhere.

The Three Gossips is one of many famous sandstone formations of the Arches National Park, a U.S. National Park in eastern Utah. It is known for preserving over 2000 natural sandstone arches, including the world-famous Delicate Arch, in addition to a variety of unique geological resources and formations.
The park is located just outside of Moab, Utah, and is 76,679 acres (31,031 ha) in area. Its highest elevation is 5,653 feet (1,723 m) at Elephant Butte, and its lowest elevation is 4,085 feet (1,245 m) at the visitor center. Forty-three arches have collapsed due to erosion since 1970. The park receives 10 inches (250 mm) of rain a year on average.

Here are three random facts about the Cathedral:
Truro Cathedral was the first Cathedral to be built on a new site in England since Salisbury Cathedral in 1220
The Cathedral has three organs. The most famous of these is the Father Willis Organ of 1887 which is widely regarded as one of the finest instruments in the country. The organ was built in 1887 in London and arrived in Cornwall by boat. Most Friday lunchtimes there are recitals in the Cathedral, with visiting organists travelling from all round the country to play.
The central tower and spire stands 250 feet (76 m) tall. For much of this year the central spire has been scaffolded to allow for £400,000 worth of urgent repairs to the Bath Stone – you can just see the last of the scaffold in my picture. The last time this happened was in the 1980’s, when I worked in an Architect’s office in High Cross. The senior partner was at that time also the Surveyor to the Fabric of Truro Cathedral, and one morning he breezed into the office and asked me if I would like to join him for a site visit, climbing to the very top of that 250 foot spire. My wife Jane has a picture of me at home somewhere, taken on that morning.
