Three almost-finished goldfinches, waiting to be turned into brooches. This design takes a while to sew (lots of small details!) so it's extra satisfying to line them up like this when they're finished :)

Beautiful models and a fast car--how could I resist posting this one?!!! :D
This is another shot taken when our photography interest group (the WIU Hot Shots) met at Lake Ruth on the campus of Western Illinois University. George Hartman, one of the University's photographers, instructed members in the use of natural light and reflectors for outdoor portrait photography. For this shot, our beautiful young models posed in front of my 1995 Corvette convertible.

While the PV-1 crew with CF7 #2558 is working their way to the engine house in the background to tie up for the day, the PV-2 crew with CF7's #2647 and #2597 are cleaning out yard tracks for the weed sprayer truck, providing a rare opportunity to shoot MU'd power on the Pioneer Valley. The Pinsley owned Pioneer Valley operates over a pair of ex New Haven lines to EastHampton and Holyoke, major commodities are wood products, lpg and candle wax (for nearby Yankee Candle).

Found an expired roll of Kodak Gold 400, and took it out with the Xpan using a 35mm PC Nikkor and zone focusing. I think this is the lens I like the most on the Xpan - wide but not too wide; nice color; keeps me in the moment.
I hope I correctly identified trees as maples.

While it is difficult to compare canyons world-wide, Blyde River Canyon is one of the largest canyons on Earth, and it may be the largest 'green canyon' due to its lush subtropical foliage. It has some of the deepest precipitous cliffs of any canyon on the planet. It is the second largest canyon in Africa, after the Fish River Canyon, and is known as one of the great wonders of nature on the continent.
Possibly the best view in the whole of the Blyde River Canyon is of the "Three Rondavels", huge, round rocks, thought to be reminiscent of the houses or huts of the indigenous people, known as rondavels. This canyon is part of the Panorama route. This route starts at the town Graskop and includes God's Window, the Pinnacle and Bourke's Luck Potholes.

At suppertime yesterday after these three came through our cove. The two adults are easily seen with their white heads. Their fledgling is sorta halfway below them and sorta halfway up the hill.after a while the adults decided they had sat long enough and left. The young one waited and then lazily drifted across the Arm, a few hundred metres over the water, hardly more than a couple of metres off the surface.
