Threads for Somalia Fashion Show was presented by Ka Joog and Mohamed Hersi on October 29th, 2011 at the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis. Photo by Poet Nation.

The threads don't really work, but I think with a higher polygon count and better settings this just might work out.

One of the threads used in real metal thread embroidery: Kreinik Passing Thread. This is ecclesiastical grade of real metal, a good quality. It has a percentage of real gold in it - gorgeous in stitchery!

This collection of threads is inspired by Bonnie & Camille's "Vintage Modern" Collection. I love their trademark aqua/red/grey combo teamed with the girly florals and gorgeous print coordinates. As soon as this was released I snapped up a layer cake, and I'm so tempted to sign up to The Fat Quarter Shop's 2012 Designer Mystery BOM because it's using "Vintage Modern" - so in love!

Willimantic, CT

One of four 11' tall bronze frogs that sit atop giant concrete spools of thread that decorate the four corners of the Thread Street Crossing bridge. The motif celebrates Willimantic's history as a major manufacturer and exporter of thread as well as paying homage to a local legend, the Frog Fight. This was a harrowing night in 1754 when townspeople rushed outside with their muskets to defend themselves from an unseen screeching menace. The next morning, they discovered scores of dead frogs, who had fought for the last remaining puddles of water in a drought-stricken lake.

A look down a row of metal eyelets that make up a rope fence. A closeup of the end tie-off to this fence is elsewhere on my stream.

Starting to get desperate now looking for brightly coloured things around the house!

Desperation shot of buttons.

I had a nice weekend. I took a class in landscape quilts at my local quilt shop. Here are some of the threads I got together to take with.

A typical species of wildflowers with thread like petals. The one pictured was found in Upper Shimla region of Himachal Pradesh. These wildflowers are mostly found at a height more than 12000ft and are very rare at low altitudes.

I threaded the end of the bowden tube first by forcing an m7 nut over it, and then with a 1/4 x 20 die.

I wanted to use the m7 nut solution, but it compressed the tube too much for the PLA to move through it.

My 1/4 x 20 die was crappy, so it cut crappy thread. It worked much better with some PLA inside the tubing than when I was trying without. I don't have any 1/4" rod lying about- that probably would have worked better.

One of the reasons I like oriental markets is that you can find anything there. Green threads, cream threads, rubber band - what else?
