Thread a spoke-nipple onto the spoke, just enough so that it doesn't fall off. It doesn't matter that it gets all gunked-up with the compound--that's actually what we want.
The thread ran this way and that way. it weaved up and down. At the end of this yarn it was caught in the eye of the needle and could not escape until it was sewn up.
My father used to use these to store petrol. The neck and cap were brass so that there was no chance of a spark igniting the contents, with the handle and body made of steel. Little more than the neck of this one has survived. They often had a petrol company name and logo stamped on them.
The is a 2.5" thread bear crocheted from size #16 Finca perle cotton. His collar is also crocheted from the same size perle cotton and embellished with 3mm Swarovski crystals. He is fully jointed, has black onyx bead eyes and an embroidered nose. He is stuffed with polyester fiberfill weighted with steel shavings for a heavy-in-your-hand feel.

I love these old threads, especially when in such pristine condition. This is actually from a separate lot (and in a different shade) from the other orange Bear threads I put on my Flickr photostream a year or so back. What are the chances of turning up two such lots?

cotton thread for crochet ... i'm not really sure what size it is, as i got this stuff from an ebay seller in paraguay (each ball of thread is 44 yds and made in brasil).
i want to make little things ... though i don't know what kind of little things ...
I took this for an assignment at uni.
For anyone interested, this tool used for cutting a 'thread' on a metal rod so that a nut can be screwed on.
