I keep my sewing thread in a plastic Art Bin box (to keep the dust off and light out) but I love the aesthetic of exposed thread rainbows so I have this rainbow rack up on the sewing room wall.

The first thread drawing I made, this is still an unfinished test piece. Sometimes I get stuck on pieces and they remain unfinished until I find a solution or they are abandoned but that's OK, it's a vital part of the process. Things either work or they don't and sometimes if they're not working you can't retrieve them but often, like this piece, they'll spark new pieces that do work.

You can find out more about my art on my website.

THREAD

Pattern source: 99 Little Doiles by Patricia Kristoffersen

Thread: size 10 Opera crochet thread in Sage

Bloom No. 2

vellum, thread, adhesive and paper

This dress is just lovely when finished and has a great fit, but it is not a beginner's pattern. Do not be fold by it being a Threads Collection pattern with the tagline, "Step by step to sewing success!" The directions on the pattern are no more clear than normal sewing patterns and you must know how to do things like darts, zippers, slipstitching, gathers, sleeves, etc. in order to successfully do this pattern. I would recommend this pattern if you're at least an intermediate sewer.

eyebrow threading... yes, I had it done,

and yes, it hurts like hell....
