Internet pattern, size 10 thread, 7 hook

This is one of my favourite works--a tribute to Jan Švankmajer's "Do Pivnice." Colin Campbell once told me they were "fabulous," which was pretty great.

In university, I used to enjoy holding audience in my beloved wing-backed chair, caressing one of these cradled in my lap. Sometimes I took them out to the Quad for some fresh air--you get the most priceless looks from frosh when you're reading at the picnic table with a bottle of beer, absent-mindedly stroking something like this.

(Shoes, sculpey, soil, acrylic paint and gloss medium, wire, thread, glue, 2001, 28 cm long, 13 cm high / 11 inches long, 5 inches high)

I unraveled the boucle and then sewed the threads into a super soft cowl scarf. I left a couple of patches of fabric in its original form, and incorporated those for a little interest.

Strands of Bohemian style Burgundy threads wrapped with flowing golden metal accents. This chic design lends a strong style to you look without the extra weight. goo.gl/dkUPyl

Here you see my topiary stitched with thread on an index card covered with my painted background.

Reinventing this super inexpensive pair of sandals by adding crocheted accents. Just used white plastic rings, did a single crochet around each using Kreinik holographic Tapestry #12 Braid, then hot glued them onto the sandals. Added flat-backed cabochon in each center.

I've had these completed edgings for at least a couple of years without attaching them to anything and while it's nice to pull them out now and then to look at it's not nearly as satisfying as having something you can lay on a table and admire! This is the rose coloured one. There is a blue one too.

15/365 I lived up to my flickr name today. Focusenvy is going to the quilt lady (lady who quilts our quilts with a long-arm machine) tomorrow, so this morning I decided to make a baby quilt and have it ready to take tomorrow. From first thought to finishing the top -- I just made it.

Belonged to my nan.

A setup of the thread used in the embroidery.

They drove me away from town because of my horrifying, oversized cranium. But you're my friend, aren't you, bunny? Have a pumpkin or an apple or something.

P.S. Buy some thread.

Somehow I can't get the colors to photograph correctly today...

I sew at 2 different areas and was tired of chasing my pincushion around, so I made one to fit tightly into a sewing drawer that I keep sitting on top of the cabinet. Works GREAT! The little thing on top has sand in it, for my needles.

A Thread-waisted wasp, not sure what kind of bloom that is though. Not sure, but it looks like the poor guy might be missing a leg, too!

...... well, just started!

A personal challenge for the weekend - make a picture on this scrap of coloured canvas.

I don't work to a plan usually so have collected ribbon and threads in colours I like and started ....

the straight ribbon pieces went on first - so it looks like it will have to be a landscape, or maybe abstract .....

that yellow sky looks to be a challenge - shall I stitch it a different colour?

....... I'll leave it 'til last!

Two days on .... see www.flickr.com/photos/23261611@N04/3735522003/

The sky changed colour!
