The townsfolk carry lighted candles for the silent procession on the last night of the fiesta. As you can imagine, with a few thousand people taking part, this does take some time.

...I’m turning tricks, I’m getting fixed,
I’m back on Boogie Street.
You lose your grip, and then you slip
Into the Masterpiece.
And maybe I had miles to drive,
And promises to keep:
You ditch it all to stay alive,
A thousand kisses deep.
And sometimes when the night is slow,
The wretched and the meek,
We gather up our hearts and go,
A thousand kisses deep...
Leonard Cohen sung "A Thousand Kisses Deep".

Dadès River (French: Oued Dadès) is a river in Morocco. It rises in the High Atlas and then turns south crossing through the Dadès Gorge, thence westward between the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountain ranges. The stunning, colourful valley of the Dades, dividing the High Atlas from the Djebel Sarhro range, begins 1 hour (40km) east of Ouarzazate at the lush oasis town of Skoura. The whole valley is lined with kasbahs lending it the name “the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs". The first section is known as the “Valley of the Roses” due to its fame for rose growing, the petals from which are harvested to make an essential oil of renowned high quality.

Located on the Granite Threshing Bee grounds. The village of Granite began to die out during the Great Depression and by the 1970's it had been reduced to a handful of homes and only one business. However, the Granite Threshing Bee draws thousands to the village each year. It features several old (or replicas of old) buildings. An association maintains the grounds and is continually making improvements and additions.
