Final Product. I used a silver sharpie to repaint the pointy spots and black sharpie to repaint a portion of the roof.
As for the rubber treads, I stripped them off a wooden Bryon. Both item shares identical chassis.
It was relatively easy to remove the treads off Bryon since Bryon's chassis and the body are hold together by several screws.
Reinstalling the treads onto thumper posted numerous challenges. The gap between the chassis and the body is extremely narrow for obvious reason. I had to flip the treads inside out and used the pulley system to slide the tread from one end to the other. That's the easy part. Pulling the tread out was the difficult part due to limited spaces. I broke one of the treads as I pulled them out. I used super glue to glue the tread back. Not recommended without adult supervision. It is really hard to explain in words. I am impress how I pulled it off.
Day four of our little trip included a visit to Llangollen Railway Station to have a look at their 'Thomas' weekend.
This has some nice stuff to look at, though I didn't venture in. The pricing structure meant that the station was closed unless you had an event ticket. An event ticket cost £17. This entitles you to spend all day on the railway if you want to, but if you just want to go in and ride 200 yards up and down on Thomas, it's still going to cost you £17. Ouch!
Livvy liked the train a lot until the driver blew the steam whistle at close proximity. It was just a little bit loud. ;)

Thomas and Friends Egg-free cupcakes. Strawberry, chocolate and lemon cakes, covered with sugarpaste. June 09.
My son really likes to put all his toys in a long line, then he moves each toy at a time until the whole line has moved. It's just wonderful to watch and he does this for hours at a time. And yes btw this is a train set from Thomas the Tank Engine which my son adores.
Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends Cupcakes for Mattel.
This was a special order for Mattel in Melbourne, Australia. It required hours and hours of work handcrafting each Thomas & Friends cupcake topper.

His grandma bought him a new Thomas the Train Whistle while at the "Day out with Thomas"
At "A Day out with Thomas" they had a train ride on a "real" Thomas, a huge life size air filled Percy, two jumpers, face painting, tattoos, bubbles, hula hoops, legos, big tables with tracks and thomas the trains set up, storytelling, a band and this maze made of out bales of hay. Sir Topham Hat was also there to take photo's with the kids. The maze was a huge hit for us, one way in and one way out. So Daddy was on one side and I was on the other. J spent a ton of time in there, just wandering around. And then when Thomas came back from a ride down the track he just stood there and watched, could not be disturbed by anyone!
I don't think I have ever seen so many kids in Thomas the train t-shirts, shoes, socks, hats, you name they had it on. And TONS of engineer caps too. J's Grandma got him one to wear after she saw some kids wearing them (in the huge Thomas store they had set up).
I have a feeling that A Day out with Thomas will become an annual trip for us. It was a huge hit for the whole family.
