This beautiful rose called my name from a long distance. It taught me how to take pictures for roses. You should first smell the beauty, then capture it!

This old shed housed wartime evacuees from the city.

Me: Did you ever model?

Fumio: Nope.

Me: ....I think it would have been a wonderful career for you.

Fumio: ....

Might make this his census photo.

This amazing restaurant lost its lease at its original location near Kennestone Hospital. They’ve relocated to S. Marietta Parkway at Manget Street. They make awesome burgers. We’ve never had breakfast there, so I cannot write about that. I’ll bet it’s good!

This Orion was a spares a/c for Argentina, so not a likely candidate for a return to the air. Probably, it was scrapped here. The yard was completely cleared a few years later and this old turboprop has never been seen since.

This is one of my favorite structures for photography. It is the sun screen above the rear viewing area at the Visitors Center of the West section of Saguaro National Park near Tucson, AZ.

I posted a series from there several years ago and made a point of going back this fall. It was later in the afternoon and the sun shadows were less complex than the last time, but it still inspired me to take 60 or so shots.

This is my version of Batmobile from the "Batman V Superman" film.

This is taken with an iPhone 4s equipped with an Olloclip macro lens.

This is Pure Myth!

Forget Sharon Stone (well not really, she's still beatifull)!

This is Carl Lewis: the fastest man on Earth for the fastest tyres on the Planet! But remember: "Power is nothing without control".

We all enthusiastically approved the Pirelli's motto, since 1994 (oh yes, seems like yesterday) and we still keep it, today, in the back of our mind when we see or buy a P-Tyre.

Please Pirelli, gives us some more "enlighted inspiration", we all need that, even when we don't drive or race!

This white MAN TGX from the Czech Republic, was parked at an industrial area on the outskirts of Leeds. The truck was operated by Mapler, based in the city of Plzeň/Pilsen, located in western Czechia, famous for it's specialty beers.

This work of public art in Plainfield, Indiana was created by Kylin Brown of Kylin Brown Art Studio, and sponsored by Duke Energy. Greg Nichols of Al’s Donuts provided the west side of his building as the canvas. The pictures in the letters represent different elements of the town. The black line at the bottom represents the national road (US 40) which runs through Plainfield.

This species is a regular nester up here. It often chooses a protected nest site under the eaves of our cabin or garage. They typically raise a handful of chicks, and are kept busy going back and forth with insect catches. While there are other Empid Flycatchers up here, this species by far predominates. The other likely candidate is the Hammond's... it is said to have a grayer (not olive) back.

This is a picture of Cash Lake on the South Tract of the Patuxent Research Refuge near Laurel, Maryland.

This is a shot of Felucas on the Nile in Luxor. It was a throw away, as the ISO was set way to high. I just looked at it again on my new LCD monitor, and I really love the feel and texture of it!

This will actually end up as a massive workbench. I need the weight in the bench because some of the tools I use need to be secured to an imoveable oject. This log seems heavy enough.

This was the first resident we saw when we got to ZSL London on a cold (as you can see from his/her breath) but sunny sunday. They are super inquisitive, beautiful animals.

This day, I am reflecting on my many years of hiking and photographing

the natural beauty that is the Appalachian Mountains

This day, I realize that I am no longer alone in my journey and

I have someone special in which to share the world as I see it

This day, the sun shines bright and a cool breeze blows elsewhere

and I am indifferent

This day - "This wonderful day"

A cloudy and humid July 4th offered us a chance to get upclose with nature.

The land we walked was once the Mertens Brothers apple orchard (early 1900's) and is now part of Western Maryland's Green Ridge State Forest.

This has just come into bloom for us indoors, one of three in a pot, with the usual glorious scent.

my apologies everyone but i've had a bad few days.

a power outage has managed to kill one of our computers and i've had to completely wipe the second!

on the upside, i backup everything so didn't lose anything important. also on the plus, at one point it seemed as if pretty much all electronics in the house were fried, so one computer, although saddening, isn't so bad in the grand scheme of things!

Also i've developed a rather large abscess in my gum and have had a very painful few days. i've not been able to eat much more than soup for 4 days and, coupled with the wedding i shot yesterday, its been very draining. i'm on antibiotics... again, so hopefully will be feeling better soon.

This Blue Coat School building is on Blackhall Place in Dublin, and here it has been captured without its "hat" on. I don't know how long it was in this unadorned state, but hopefully one of you will (or will find out) and that may help us to date this photograph more accurately...

This is the collection of materials that packaged my recent purchase. Thinking about using this when when talking about consumerism, math, environmental impact. Many different questions can be asked.

I will measure & tag the items. Shipping times, destinations and scans will follow.

All of this came in two separate shipments through two separate distributors. The boxes were big, the contents small.

How much space did this take up on the flight to Moose Jaw?

Why did it go to Mount Hop 3 times?

How many computers are shipped through this process?

What is the estimated amount of weight?

What are the impacts of this purchase? Enviro, economically

This was taken in Oshkosh Yard, not long after the Wisconsin Central had started. I would hazard a guess that it is a combination of bad track and a very heavy car contributing to this derailment.

This Western Maryland eastbound train is crossing the Potomac River on a truss-deck bridge at Little Orleans high above the river. Early morning dew makes saturates the horizontal iron and concrete surfaces. I think this was my first introduction to WM's road freights and it was an impressive one.

This is a crappy cell phone picture, but I thought you guys might be interested in this. My school got this for the school musical "Grease". I was told that they ended up getting it for $400.00. However, this is only the shell of the car on steel wheels. It had almost nothing on it, no badges, seats, console, or anything. All it had were headlights, and a steering wheel. I was also told that this thing will not be restored any time soon.

Oh and by the way, all those people in the background is my gym class because the generator powering it blew out.

This set was created for the Eurobricks Winter Village III contest. The requirement of the contest was to create a Winter themed set to fit in with the official Winter Village sets. The rules also stated that the size of the set should be comparable to these existing sets, so around 600 - 1500 parts, with 6 - 8 minifigs.

This set is approximately 1400 parts with 7 minifigs. It includes:

- Village store with interior

- Roast chestnut stall

- Delivery lorry

- Stone bench

This 512 BB was one of the very first 5-litre Berlinetta Boxers to enter the UK, originally used by the importer for demonstration, the car was famously featured in the hotly anticipated Autocar magazine article in 1978. Since then the car has covered just some 15.000 miles and was restored back to original specifications by DK Engineering in 2017 - the London Concours is the first time the car has been seen in public since.

Had to shoot and scoot for this one. I angered a bat by taking over its camp spot, and now it was circling for the kill.

This cyclist apologised as she came into frame thinking she had spoilt my picture, but I was actually crouched down waiting for her because she was the picture :)! It was taken on Nine Barrow Down in the Purbecks.

Just to explain my previous picture as there seems to be some confusion as to what it is - it is the inside of a church photographed from the outside through a window.

This video is also from a little while ago...not sure if I posted it? This one better quality anyway :-)

So today I remember why I liked Winter so much,

OVERCAST DAYS,

they are the best,

I love them,

oh so much.

When I took this my neighbor was staring at me,

awkward.

Happy Easter!

EDIT:

I now have 1000 views !

:D Thank you everyone who has viewed my photostream!

This image was taken in the Kohou-en (古峰園) Japanese garden where is located in nearby the Nikko National Park in Tochigi Pref. Japan. It was very beautiful Japanese maple turned in red of autumn. This is the typical Japanese scene in autumn

This is actually a the top view of a corner lamp. Luckily I was tall enough to get a peak from above. From there it looked mysterious.....like the inside of a hypothetical warp drive in space and the balls of light are space crafts carrying people from one corner of the universe to the other. That's when I took the shot.

Hey guys, just bringing you our newest camo pieces from Will. The desert camo has been a breakaway hit for us. We had only done a few in the white desert camo in earlier batches and those sold out very quickly so Will printed us up the M16 and variants in white desert. Also we got a tan desert ARC to fill out the original line. . -JD

This Yellowstone bull elk bugles as he warns off a couple of near by spikes. This is not a huge bull, but he has a large harem and at the last of the rut he looks like he has certainly had a few scraps with other bulls as several of his antler tines are broken off.
