I had a wonderful day spray painting on Alberta St. Do you like my wormy ladies?Winking hearts are courtesy of Dr.Roxo. This is a new "free wall" of sorts, where artists are encouraged to do repeating designs, patterns or characters that overlap, work with or around the already existing spray art. When the wall gets filled up, the repeating patterns and characters can begin anew. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

Day 9/365
. Today was a great day. I woke up feeling pretty inspired and chiper considering I had an 8 a.m. class and was running on about 4 hours of sleep until now. We talked about a lot of interesting things in creative design today, some things that really fascinated me. Essentially it had to do with making a viewer look where you wanted them to look within your photo and it snapped me into a state of consciousness that I've felt in small doses before. They say- in Buddhism I believe- that when an individual is learning a new thought, or accessing creativity previously untapped, one can literally feel their pineal gland or "Third Eye" 'expanding'. Now, I know that is a very literal interpretation of the concept and I'm certain that no part of my brain physically expanded today based on my short class, but I do feel an almost energy like feeling on the top of my head. I'm sure its a placebo type effect just because I've read about this, and when attempting to experience an awakening or open an individuals third eye you are encouraged to concentrate on this feeling in order to allow your brain to communicate between it's right and left side almost seamlessly (among a plethora of other things) to achieve enlightenment or Nirvana. I'm not a religious person, but I do believe in the concept of religion in the sense that the practice of something of which you have a firm belief in can create a sense of peace and clarity in your life and to humbly approach it and treat the concept in which you believe in as omnipotent can, and will, put you at ease with a lot more than just your method of worship. I know it may be silly to compare photography to an omnipotent being, but isn't it really the same sort of thing? I mean photography is an endless series of images, which can never truly be surpassed, and can have as much or as little power, and influence, as you permit. So in this way, photography could potentially provoke anything you allow it to within yourself and is therefor all-knowing.
. Well anyway, I used a fairly shallow depth of field here to highlight the centre of the tool palette. We can recognize each of the tools as we move outward from the centre- even though it loses focus- but the lack of sharpness, I believe, draws us back in to the middle while the repeating lines of the tools define a clear subject while the tray frames it. I left a bit of space around the tray to create a little atmosphere for it, and keep the eye moving a little- with the sharp object top-right and some chemicals and edge of the bin which holds them creates a scalene triangle. There are little traingles throughout the palette as well which I find interesting.
. This is the tool tray of a violin repairman as well. Believe me, as a musician and a generally technically intrigued person, I have an immense amount of respect for these gentlemen. The precision of their craft is absolutely astounding- like in any artform I suppose. But there is no music without these people. There are not instruments without the creator, there are no photographers without the camera, there are no painters without the paint- such is why I believe that an uncomfortably technical approach must be taken toward anything one wishes to master initially, until it is second nature. I know we discussed it on my self portrait Modern Michelangelo in regard to my growth as well, and compared another profoundly creative artist, Da Vinci, and the same concept remains but is elaborated on.
My friend Neb's been down recently, so I wanted to do a portrait to remind hir of how bright hir vision can be (the third eye really helps).
The courage to look into the eyes of evil and the grit to fight and annihilate it is what manifests strength. Maa Durga symbolises that strength which emanates from her unflinching eyes.
Three eyes of Maa Durga symbolises three significant aspects of life. The right eye represents the sun and stands for ‘action’. The left eye represents the moon and is for ‘desire’. The third eye for which we name Maa Durga as Triyambake or Trinoyoni, is representative of knowledge and is for ‘fire’. It’s believed that Goddess Kali appeared from the third eye of Maa Durga and destroyed the demons during the Navratri.

First time attempting to spray paint. I need lots more practice and some super thin caps! But it was fun.
I am taking it back, back into time, I've recently dipped into the archives & unearthed thousands of old photo's so the next few uploads are gonna be about History....

Me, Reakt & Zarjaz couldn't believe what we'd stumbled across....& proceeded to painted about 20 panels in a row, before we let the cat out of the bag to a couple of others...& the rest is history! & once again the moral of the story is....keep your halls of fame SECRET!
Now everyone & their nan knows where it is....you can even pay £25 a pop for an organized graffiti tour down there now apparently!

The THIRDEYE piece is on the bare concrete of the cave at Lakeside, (those of you that visit lakeside will know the cave).... Before it was a cave, it was this little hole!
