The Historic Third Ward is a historic warehouse district located in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This Milwaukee neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Third Ward is home to over 450 businesses and maintains a strong position within the retail and professional service community in the city as a showcase of a mixed-use district. The neighborhood's renaissance is anchored by many specialty shops, restaurants, art galleries and theatre groups, creative businesses and condos. It is home to the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and Broadway Theatre Center. The Ward is adjacent to the Henry Maier Festival Park, home to Summerfest. The neighborhood is bounded by the Milwaukee River to the west and south, East Clybourn Street to the north, and Lake Michigan to the east.

A property found on a drive 4.14.06. Nobody lived there, and by the condition, nobody had been there in some time.
A faded white fence surrounded the entire property. It's in various states of repair and in spots, being reclaimed by vines and the elements.
There are two homes on the property. A "main" house and a little cottage down an overgrown path. The snippet of white picket fence is all that remains surrounding the cottage.

My daughter has been getting horrible grades in spelling until I started doing this. I create these crazy flash cards in photoshop, and then use them as the screen saver on our computer.
I get the spelling words in advance, and open photoshop, and just start google- image searching. I look for on tipoc pics, but also I keep the letters in mind that she cannot remember. I look for images that recall or could recall those letters' shapes, as well as reinforce the meaning of the word- a mountain replaces the letter 'a' in "peak" for example.
another strategy is that I interfere with the letter that she cannot recall- this week I have some one "stealing" the letter 'a' from the word 'steal', another week a baby bit off the corner of the letter 'w' from 'chew'.
The best spellers are visual. She is visual. I am trying to cement these connections in her head.
She has gone from failing to getting a's and a pluses last year. THis year she was getting C's and I'm waiting to get out first 'post-visual' test back.

Once we got into the restricted zone the first stop we made was at the Third Tunnel of Aggression. ROK forces discovered this DMZ- passing tunnel in 1978. The Korean People’s Army (KPA) built the tunnel under the heavily mined DMZ in order to move troops and equipment across the border in the event of an invasion of Seoul by Kim il-Sung. It’s estimated an entire infantry division could move through the tunnel in one hour. It was about a mile long, six feet tall, seven feet wide and now serves as a tourist destination.
We'd like to say this is our very first outside pea sprouting triumphantly in the face of incessant winter, but that's not entirely correct. Is third pea. But the first two were in a kind of unphotographable spot, so this will have to do.
The race has serveral colored checkpoints where the color bomb squad would either hit you or douse you in a different color.
