Third attempt to capture the Shorncliffe Pier sunset. Went there three weeks ago, missed the sunset by 30 minutes, went again last week, but the tide was too high to see the rocks. Before I go this time, I check the tide, sunset time and arrived 1.5 hours before the sunset and scouted a spot for the shoot.

The other boat that traveled on the Britannia for trips to shore. I think this one might have been a racing vessel.
This is on the Britannia, a disgustingly opulent yacht that the Queen of England had for about half a century. For when she needed to relax, y'know.
What a difference a day makes. Sunday morning, 3rd Street is closed and underwater. This is the view from Beloit Memorial High School's south end.

Back to the third main falls in Stony Brook. This one has a stairway that descends right next to the falls. You can hang over and support the camera on the wall and get shots like this without a tripod.
While waiting with little Maks and Miki_Miska83 for my friends on Flickr Meetup (Maja, Sandor , Miha_Babnik, Mr. Mayhem and JumpinJack), I snapped some quick shots.
Single exposure HDR from third pond, tonemapped from 1 RAW with Photomatix, Detail enhancer, very natural settings. In Photoshop I added sharpness with HighPass filter, S curve with curves adjustment layer and scaled+signed.
