Jesus falls the first time.
I looked about, but
there was no one to help,
I was appalled that
there was no one
to lend support.

Relay station can be seen on the top of the ridge.
The frogs ended their racket soon after I stopped recording, and it was back to silence. No mosquitoes here (maybe the frogs are eating them).
I had the exact same experience back in 2021.
My first major hike in nine months, I was nervous about my fitness. But I guess bicycling six miles a day and walking another two or three has kept me pretty fit indeed, even at nearly 62 years old. I made it to the top of Relay Peak in less than two hours.
The problem began just as I was approaching the relay station, when my old bum knee began acting up. I had forgotten fitting the knee brace in the morning, which is a reliable prophylactic for the knee pain. The hike down from the top was eventually rather excruciating, and caused me to move pretty slowly. But there were no other ill effects.
Aside from the knee, I felt great, 100%.
A GPS track of this hike is available here.

More of the old Dodge truck in the Distillery. Starting to play a little catch-up on my uploads, this was taken the same time as 'Dodge and Burn'.

my youngest daughter gave me the hideous birthbath from her yard-it had a squirrel it that looked like roadkill. I had to hide the ugly flat squirrel and this is how I did it....
Third time lucky. An iconic location I was back again for my third attempt to capture an image that satisfied me. The location a 20 minutes drive from my sons house in Chapel where we where staying on grandchild minding duties. This was our first morning and looking at the week ahead the best chance of getting some sort of atmosphere. I’d calculated if I got up a 4am 90 minutes later I should be at the top of Chrome hill, at 5:31am I took my first photo from the top. I’d picked right we had mist, they’d be no chance of this repeated in the week ahead as wind was forecast, if anything I had to much mist. I started from the top and made my way down picking of compositions as I travelled. With a composition chosen I would wait as the scene would change from minute to minute as the mist rolled through the valley, now you see it, now you don’t. Slowly I picked of my photographs and decided to climb the next hill, then disaster. Nearing the tree in this image I slipped on wet grass, I was careless, carrying my camera on the tripod I fell then rolled into some nettles, I yelp. My first thought was the camera OK, I’d fallen awkwardly to protect the camera, hence the roll into nettles, then I thought good it’s my left leg I can still drive the car. I tried to stand fearing I’d broken the ankle, slowly I put some weight on it and wiggled my toes and decided it was only a sprain. I hobbled through the gate by the tree only to see the sun make it’s first show some 45 minutes after sunrise. I took a quick photo then the photographer took over, I needed to get back up the hill for the composition I wanted, the photo you see now. All that was left to do now was a slow hobble 1.5 miles to the car.

my friend Kilnders Rawl E. once told me that if you see two places at the same time you are actually seeing a third place.
During the last three months, there have been three places I have "lived." By far, number one is the library (I spend about about twelve hours a day there). Number two is my apartment (I sleep here--spending 7-8 hours there a day). Number three has been Jack in the Box. I have found this little both a great place to study for hours. In this photo, my sister is sitting at the booth having a snack.
