For some reason, Prime Minister Saad Hariri of Lebanon (not pictured -- he was already inside) decided to use the front door to enter the White House. And the Secret Service didn't shut the square down for him, either.

ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND, Md. -- When engineers from the U.S. Army Research Laboratory brainstormed on how to improve Soldier lethality, the idea of a third arm seemed like something that might help.
Mechanical engineer Dan Baechle carefully planned out a device that doesn't need batteries, is lightweight and can evenly distribute the load of a heavy weapon.
"It can help stabilize the weapon and take the load off of their arms," he said. "It's made from composite materials to make it as light as possible, but also to ensure the range of motion that Soldiers need."

- This is a photo I added two years ago (it is now 2010) after an earlier conversation with SCMProfessor about the "rule of thirds." It is a little tongue in cheek, but I do like the framing.
- And now it is 2012 and the topic has come up again in the DPS challenge. www.digital-photography-school.com/the-rule-of-thirds-wee...

Our third beer was derived from a wheat beer recipe in a book I can't remember the title of! Basically, instead of American wheat yeast, we decided to go with an American ale yeast and MORE HOPS; Almost quadruple the hops!

This is a horrible image and I don't care. I'm not even sure if it qualifies for this week's theme - thirds - but it's the best I have right now. I just didn't want to miss a week. This is me on an airplane trying to see my dad before he dies. FYI, he passed about 30 min after I got there. I still plan to continue with this project but I can't guarantee the quality of my future work right now. I'm sure you all will understand.

Jesus falls the first time
Jesus was in pain. He had not slept. He had been whipped and beaten. He had lost blood and His flesh was weak. Can we wonder that he fell?
Almighty God. When human weakness is pulling us down please give us the strength to do that which is right and to carry on to the end of our journey.
