Evelyn received an abacus for her birthday (amongst other things, of course - I'm not that bad). Here she is recording data of some sort or another. I love how she sharpened her pencil, found her notebook and set up her desk. Then she made "thinking" faces to convince us all of her important work.

The statue of Abraham Lincoln statue has sat at atop Bascom Hill on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus for more than a century. The statue is a replica of Adolph A. Weinman's original, erected in Hodgenville, Ky., where Lincoln was born. Lincoln is considered a patron of the university because he signed the Morrill Act in 1862 to provide federal aid to land-grant colleges such as UW-Madison.
Rubbing Abe’s extended foot is said to bring good luck. In another tradition, graduates celebrate by climbing atop his lap in cap and gown for a photograph.

This is one of the two identical angels keeping the entrance of the Sankt Marxer Friedhof, in Wien. I have been to this cemetery so many times that now when I visit it, both angels nod at me. ;)
this is about one of those times when you feel like the weight of the whole world rests on your shoulders

The house is in great condition. The garden not so much but we've been promised a gardener that will trim it all down. I might upload a photo of the garden later. Its kind of Jungle Book meets Apocalypse Now.
We still need to buy some bits and bobs. At the moment we're stretching our single sheet over a double bed.
