Everything is temporary but ...

Blind pain rains invisible stains. Sometimes the situations that affect us the most are only visible to our own perspective. Only you can conquer your inner pains and hidden issues that cause the most self doubt. Just remember you are not alone.

Influenced by the sketch by Christopher Ryan, I sketched this skull. I find skulls very interesting as they are always smiling, and one possible reason I find behind it is that, it is only after death that they realize there was no point in living the way they did. Only a thin layer of covering changes the skull's expressions drastically to a sadness, depression or a happiness. God had created us all happy, which is evident from the smile on the skull, but it is the way of life that we lead that makes a difference, and after all death is a great leveler. This sketch is an easy one as it does not require any blending but at the same time it also requires confident strokes that mark the definite shape of the skull. The irony of the sketch is that, it deals with death and happiness at the same time and surprisingly fits in well. Anyways, who knows how it feels after dying.

Not a red rose or a satin heart.

I give you an onion.

It is a moon wrapped in brown paper.

It promises light

like the careful undressing of love.

Here.

It will blind you with tears

like a lover.

It will make your reflection

a wobbling photo of grief.

I am trying to be truthful.

Not a cute card or kissogram.

I give you an onion.

Its fierce kiss will stay on your lips,

possessive and faithful

as we are,

for as long as we are.

Take it.

Its platinum loops shrink to a wedding ring,

if you like.

Lethal.

Its scent will cling to your fingers,

cling to your knife.

I did have a heart to post, and was looking for the poem "I wouldn't thank you for a Valentine",

- which led me to this poem,

- which made me think of this photo

- that was waiting for the right occasion.

I was inspired by a public domain photo and quote and created this poster.

Many thanks to JoAnn S. Makinano via pingnews for the PD photo.

Most of us are so very thankful for our troops.

There is a lot to think about with so many wars going on with our young men and women fighting stateside as well as troops from other parts of the world. There are, also, the children (innocents) to think about that suffer from no fault of their own. If politicians can grow rich from war(s) why shouldn't they start wars or better yet why should they stop them? Truly, the temptation must be hard... it most defiantly is a conflict of interest to do the right thing (tempted with millions and billions of dollars) Not saying it is right but just stating an observation. THINKaboutIT!

As far as the photo I don't know if it was the eyes that inspired me to create a poster but I couldn't help myself it just oooooooooooozed out.

I used this quote I recently saw the other day to complete the poster.

"One of the hopeful things that I've discovered is that nearly every war that has started in the past 50 years has been a result of media lies. The media could've stopped it if they had searched deep enough; if they hadn't reprinted government propaganda they could've stopped it." Julian Assange

Don't blame me if you get stuck staring at this for too long.

Naomi Oreskes is one of the world's leading historians of science. June 24, 2010 she gave a public lecture in Copenhagen revolving around her new book "Merchants of Doubt: How a Handful of Scientists Obscured the Truth on Issues from Tobacco Smoke to Global Warming".

The event was organized in collaboration between ISSP, University of Southern Denmark, Dagbladet Information and University of Copenhagen.

Watch the 40 minutes video recording at Vimeo and read my summary at TH!NK ABOUT IT #3: Developing World.

Wheat has been called the staff of life...many other grains such as corn, rice, barley, rye, quinoa, and millet are also ground and used to make this food of many generations of mankind...the most basic staple of people worldwide...and one of the things so few of us truly value and some even take for granted. A whole industry of farmers, millers, bakers, dairymen, herders, and animal husbandry was created to help make this staple of life......from chapati to pumpernickel, focaccia to bloomers, tortillas to brioche, wholemeal, multigrain, rye, sourdough, fruited sodabread, scones, cornbread, whie or brown, baguettes or challah....so many varieties they cannot easily be counted. Why then, are families and little children in so many countries worldwide starving to death for lack of food...in particular this most basic food...one of the most inexpensive and easiest to make? Ask this of yourself the next time you have toast with your breakfast or a roll with your dinner, or a sandwich for your lunch. There is only one answer for the suffering of many at the hands of a few who have it within their power and authority to change the world........greed. To be greedy is the ultimate demonstration of insecurity and selfishness. Those who are selfish and greedy cannot progress, and will not move to the next plane of awareness....they will remain in a prison of their own making, never being truly free....and they take their people hostage with hunger. All the worse for them. It is a saying that "man cannot live on bread alone"....it is correct....clean drinking water is also vital. Two things that are unbelievably in short supply.

Sin will take your farther by the Cathedrals.

As a child I foolishly turned God away

Not knowing the heartache a sinner must face

But God in His goodness has let me return

To share with His children this lesson I've learned

(Chorus)

Sin will take you farther than you wanna go

Slowly but wholly taking control

Sin will leave you longer than you wanna stay

Sin will cost you far more than you wanna pay

So with pleasure and promises sin took control

Leaving me dying with nothing to show

GONE WERE MY LOVED ONES AND MY DEAREST FRIENDS

Only a Savior could love me again

Repeat Chorus twice

I have been thinking about these railroad spikes ever since I found them. Jesus endured the pain of nails like these so our sins would be forgiven. I could not imagine the pain that he went through. Stop what your doing now, think about your life and remember the love of God.

Last week whilst in Dubai I often stood on the edge of the sea loving how warm it was and thinking about why it was never so warm standing on our local beaches! Today, standing on the beach in Ayr, on a not so bad day, it was nowhere close to that 38C weather of last week, no, it was only 13C and that is quite warm for here!!
