I was tagged by Andreas to post a self portrait (as if I don't do enough of those) along with 16 things about myself:
1. I've worked in the same place, doing pretty much the same thing, since 1985.
2. I would love to be able to turn photography into some sort of career, but I think the majority of my stuff is crap- in another words, I am my own worst critic.
3. I became a vegetarian in 2003 on a dare. It became a habit- one I am proud to have.
4. I smoked non-filter cigarettes for 16 years until I quit in 2001. It was hard to stop, but I don't even think about smoking anymore.
5. I like to think that politically I am center, but everyone I know (except Runa) think I am just to the left of Lennon. Runa thinks I am a militaristic right winger- when I'm not being shallow- I think.
6. My all time favorite movie is a little known film called "Night of the Comet"- not that it's a great work of art, but because it takes me back to to a time I loved.
7. I stopped watching TV a year ago because I think of it as a tremendous time waster- but then what is it i am doing now...
8. I hate change- but I'm trying to change that.
9. I don't believe in god, but I pray every day that I'm wrong.
10. I earned my pilots license in 2000. I consider it a great accomplishment but I haven't flown a plane since 2001.
11. I think I spend way to much time alone.
12. I am a tremendous procrastinator (I was tagged with this three weeks ago).
13. I have hosted a skating tour of South Beach (which I will be doing again in two weeks- you all are invited!) for the last four years. I know more about Miami Beach then most people who live there.
14. I despise cockroaches (Not those little ones, but the big "palmetto bug" ones we have down here)!
15. I don't have a great sense of self-esteem. And I really don't think there are that many who will get this far down the list to read this.
16. Generally I don't panic (unless there is a big palmetto bug around!).
Now I'm supposed to tag five people:

Patterns hidden in everyday things - I love patterns, especially ones that may not be instantly recognisable or understood as well as finding them in our everyday environment. The idea of not having the full information or photograph allows the viewer to make their own thoughtful judgements on the piece. I think visual communication in this sort of way creates challenging and interesting pictures in an almost graphic design type way, something i want to study in depth.

Surreale Dinge. Skulputuren und Objekte von Dali bis Man Ray.

We live in a material world. We all use materials, and we take advantage of their familiar properties. But what creative potentials lie hidden in the materials themselves? Instead of reducing them to passive and compliant matter, the project Liquid Things examines the creative obstinacy and productivity of materials. Their inherent tendencies and dynamics are identified and set free in expressly open-ended experiments. The aim of the Liquid Things contribution in the exhibition is to provide insights into day-to-day research work and to present exemplary research objects and methods.
My home desk on a "good day"
Clutter is the bane of my life, it gathers and gathers until I sweep it all away, only to find it take hold again the very next day.
I need a wooden chest with Tardis like qualities, so I can just turf stuff into it and retrieve it at whim!
This desk represents about 15 hours of work that needs to be done in the next 3 days, personal and office related. Yay.
Hay..

Things have been getting positively silenthillian these past few days. Sometimes the fog thins out a little, sometimes it smothers everything like a fat man reaching across a dinner table to reach the salt shaker.
When the weather is like this, objects are no longer content to merely exist. They start to loom. Sometimes things and people emerge.
It's great paranoia weather, if you're so inclined.
