I go garbage shopping sometimes and find amazing things. Frog and I found a 'like new' set of red vinyl luggage down the street last month. I got the small one for yarn and Frog grabbed the big one for dress-up clothes.
These are a few of my favorite things..
I must have been in an especially animal loving mood this week:)

Not sure what caused the weird prismatic effect here...probably the light hitting just wrong. Or maybe....it was the evil.

5 things:
1) old magazines
2) old cell phone charger
3) old skillet (which we replaced yesterday with an awesome and huge 5 qt. skillet)
4) Banana popcicles which have never been opened and are probably 6 months old. I think they are disgusting, but Tommy buys stuff like this then never eats it.
5) old air freshner and refils
"The dog" is in the picture becuase I was soooo mad at him last night after he peed on my comforter which, coincidentally, I just picked up from the dry cleaners after my baby pooped on it. Seriously? Seriously!
My biggest challenge with using Cultured Code's Things was simple: I needed to use it on multiple Macs (home, work and portable) to get the most out of it and assumed some sort of sync services feature down the road would be my answer. I decided to wait patiently.
But now, with their 0.9 update, Things allows you to choose your library location. Specify a usb thumb drive, for example, as the location of the database and suddenly you have go anywhere tasks for multiple Macs that have the application installed.
After learning this I purchased the smallest, most portable USB drive I could find, the Sony Micro Vault Tiny (2GB, $25), and now I carry it everywhere (the Micro Vault is small and flat enough to just hide out in my wallet). When I'm at one of my Macs, I pop in the USB drive, open up Things and get to work right away.
Nice, simple solution that is working well so far.
There are so many things that I love in life.
My children and the time I have with them...quiet moments in solitude, where I can think...whatever I'm training for...photography... spending hours admiring great work from other photographers...long walks along beaches and the sound of the ocean...sunsets...my son's giggles and the way he wraps his arms around my neck as I tuck him in...my girls and the way they smile so pretty...good music and concerts...the sound of acoustic guitars during a crisp fall night under the stars...lyrics and words to hold on to in your heart...writing...fine wine...a good beer...sleeping in...my fluffy, feather pillow...time off...so many things. I'm very lucky to have these things to appreciate and love.
With everything that's been going on in my life, I've been running in all directions. While I love all these things, I get so busy that I run myself down if I'm not careful. So, I'm going to take some time off from many of the things I've been tied to and get away from it. I'm going to do a few of the things I love. I've got a few nice plans already going for me this week. If you don't see me around...don't worry, I'll be back in a short bit. I'll be back refreshed and with pictures of all the places I visit and things I see...of course.
So it's time to have some fun. Starting with tonight...Dave Matthews Band concert.
A few friends and I have tickets to go. We'll tailgate together, celebrate through the night and I'll take off from there. I'm free...I'm stoked. What could be better than going to see a DMB concert with a bunch of friends? Nothing to me right now. Besides...I love a man who wears boots and can play a mean guitar.
